    Gameplay/Lag Issues since 12/12/12 update

Thread Title: Gameplay/Lag Issues since 12/12/12 update

    Details:
I've been experiencing severe lag and loss of game play-ability during Legion, Voidwatch, Provenence, Salvage II and while in Port Jeuno. This has occurred every day, every time I have been at any of these events since the recent update and While I move around or type in Port Jeuno. I drop to less than 1 FPS and cannot select or activate spells and abilities for large gaps of time. In the new Salvage I don't see text for my spells initiating a large percentage of the time, as well as animations don't follow through. People randomly disappear and reappear in new locations instead of normal game motions.
I've also had lots of other people telling me they experience bad lag and similar experiences to mine.

This rarely happened before the update (when Provenance first came out is the only other time I can recall) and my ISP and gaming system have not changed so I believe there was something that happened during the maintenance/update.

    Steps:
I went to the zones/events and tried to play the game. And had massive failures.

    Date & Time:
    12/12/12, 12/13/12, 12/14/12, 12/15/12, 12/17/12 (11:47pm-1:00am currently)

    Frequency:
State how frequent the issue occurs. Please select from the following.
    1. Always

    Platform:
    “PlayStation2”

    ISP:
    Arvig Communications

I hate to say this but you're on a PS2 in the USA. The Japanese development team IMHO have little or no priority to fix issues on this platform. Proof is that cut scenes from two years ago still Black Screen of Death (hard lock) the system and haven't been fixed, in fact they've gotten worse.

There are a lot of trolls here that will tell you abandon your PS2 because it's a relic or something. I'm not going to do that. My suggestion is if you can't play with a system that's supposed to be on the supported list you need to look at other alternatives. What you can do is speak with your money and cancel. Second option is to submit to the lack of PS2 support (if broken things aren't being fixed or maintained they technically aren't being supported) and upgrade to a PC. The Development as already decided the new expansion won't be for PS2 either unless you're on a Japanese PS2 with Japanese client so no matter what not many options in the PS2 front.

Best of luck, I can bet with near 100% accuracy English PS2 specific problems aren't getting fixed anymore.

On a side note I've noticed lots of lag myself, but my DSL keeps dropping so it's hard to tell whats broken.

This is not just a PS2 problem, I had PC users tell me they had the exact same experience in the new salvage areas, as well as numerous people on all platforms complain about lag during Legion and Voidwatch (mostly Qilin and the Provenance battlefields so far)
I intend to upgrade to a PC by the time the expansion comes out, that doesn't mean I shouldn't be able to play and keep my character relevant until I do purchase a decent PC.
And again, I'd like to point out, this was not a problem before the update. This is a result of something that happened during the update. My server (Quetzalcoatl) if not other server needs Maintenance to fix these problems as soon as possible. Consider this post as a customer informing the Maintenance team of what needs to be looked at.
