Returning player (1+ year away) - curious about campaign

    Hello all.
I am a long time FFXI player. I am returning to the game after more than a year of being away.
I've found that all of my old LS mates are gone. I'm hoping to use these forums to meet some new people.

My main question is - do people still participate in campaign? I went out the other night an all the battles were empty. I was the only one... :O
If it has fallen by the wayside... how do people rank up for medals anymore?

Campaign is slow, very few ppl do it right now since exp is faster in other places, even solo and campaign doesnt give you skill ups.

Also medals are now aligned with your WotG progression. So the further along you are in WotG the higher your medal, you do not need to keep fighting in campaign to keep it up

Thank you so much for this information.

You still have to earn the medal by participating in campaign tho correct?

The main reason to do Campaign nowadays would be to use Allied Notes to buy Voiddust. If you have limited resources as a returning player, that might not be a bad reason at all, because Voiddust itself sells very fast for a very steady price.
