Where to go at level 30

Any links to threads that already cover this topic is appreciated. I could not find one in my search.

So I hit level 30 with my first job, and i'm in the process of leveling up other jobs. However, what's the first step I should take with my main job?

    1. I can continue missions but i'm not sure when one will lead me to Jeuno. I know I need to get there soon. I don't know where exactly to go, though, as its been FOREVER since I was last in Jeuno. So how do I get there?

    2. What do I do once i'm in Jeuno? I can pick up all those extra job quests, but i'm content with the jobs I have now so I will probably level old ones up first before attempting these quests. So, I know I want to do my chocobo license quest. Then what? Party outside in that snow/mountain area?

    3. What should I think about after Jeuno? What will my next destination be and how do I best prepare for it with the resources I will have in Jeuno? Can I start raising my own chocobo? How important is the airship license at my level, and when should I get it?

    4. Does anyone recommend not continue the rank 3 missions or going to Jeuno first, and instead doing something else?

    5. When is a good time to start one of the many expansions that i've never delved into?

Please keep it mind that my highest character was 30-40 back in the day. I may not know all the abbreviations you may want to use to describe things. I have very little gil, and poor equipment (as i'm sure everyone did their first job through).

I have read many new player guides and many of them stop at level 30. I'm sure you guys would be very excited to tell me where to progress next.

If you need directions or an escort, can hit me up ingame, I can show you the way. It's a bit rough getting there the first time around, although Sneak and Invisible will be a good help. Depending on where you started out:
    • San d'Oria > West Ronfaure > La Theine Plateau > Jugner Forest > Batallia Downs > Jeuno
    • Bastok > South Gustaberg > North Gustaberg (west entrance) > Konschtat Highlands > Pashhow Marshlands > Rolanberry Fields > Jeuno
    • Windurst > East Sarutabaruta > Tahrongi Canyon > Meriphataud Mountains > Sauromugue Champaign > Jeuno

Talk to Joachim in Port Jeuno as soon as you get a chance to. That's the first thing to do. Chocobo Quest also important, since you're there. For now though, there's not much else to do there. You may also consider setting your Home Point there, although at that point that's not overly important yet.

EXP parties don't happen like they used to, most of them are GoV related. They're usually in Gusgen Mines starting from level 10~12, then moving to Crawler's Nest in the 30s, so that's where you could go. There's usually parties already there you can team up with.

The airship license won't play too much of a role for now. What you should do is get all three crags (Holla, Dem, Mea), so you can teleport to those when necessary.

I get the feeling you like missions, so you may wanna check out Qufim Island and Lower Delkfutt's Tower, to start the missions for CoP (Chains of Promathia), which then continue in Jeuno. I don't know what the requirements for the ToAU (Treasures of Aht Urhgan) mission line is, but I think you can also start it if you can access the Tenshodo.

Another thing you can do is start quests to expand your inventory, although you will need some fame for that. There is a guide on how to increase fame for any given zone.

While you're there you may as well do the rank 3 mission, as the rank 4 mission will be set in Jeuno.

Like I said, CoP you can start now already. RotZ (Rise of the Zilart) will not be unlocked until you get to rank 6 (or at least finish the fight at the end of rank 5). You can generally do them as soon as you want to, although sometimes the low level may be a hindrance.

If you're looking for a linkshell, some help on quests/missions/equipment or just some advice can always hit me up. Send a /tell to Arcon if you see me around.

    1. I think it is mission 4 that leads to Jeuno.

You can get to Jeuno depending on where you start. Simply check your region map to find it and follow through the correct paths. You are recommended to check out http://www.ffxiclopedia.org as it has a lot of useful information, maps, connecting points, quest information, etc.

    2. One of the first things you should do is enter Abyssea. You can simply enter, get your visitant status and leave. Your stones will then begin building for later. You get this started in Port Jeuno. You can party in a variety of places, but the nice thing about Jeuno is that you can shout for assistance. Simply go to Port Jeuno and shout for help, and someone will jump in and help you.

    3. You should focus on leveling up your sub jobs and main job after you reach Jeuno and after entering Abyssea at least once. When you reach level 75, you can return to Abyssea to get experience quickly.

    4. You should continue your missions until you get to Jeuno if that is what you are after. Then, you should focus on leveling up. The missions can be soloed and are much easier if you are a higher level. However, the quests and missions are some of the most fun parts of the game!

    5. When you reach Port Jeuno, that is the beginning of many missions and expansion packs. Zone in and out, and you should get multiple cutscenes. You can start a lot of these expansions solo at around level 50, but some cannot be completed until you are a higher level. For right now, I think you should aim for level 50 before taking on too many new quests or you will forget the storylines before you even finish them.

I have seen the abbreviation GoV a lot. What does this mean? Grouds of Valor? Is that an exp boost from the field manual? I've never seen it. I have been to gusgend which is how I leveled up my main job, but whre is the Crawler's Nest and how do I get there from Bastok?

How do I get to Qufim Island and Low Delkfutt's Tower. Can I do these at level 30? Will there be parties or can I solo?

Specifically, how do I do this? How will my stones "begin building for later"? It may not be imperative to know each detail now since I won't have to worry about it later but what's a rough summation of what this means?

If you've been to Gusgen and leveled there, then you already know what GoV means, because it's just that. Grounds of Valor is just getting a page from the grounds tome and getting EXP every certain number of killed mobs.

To get there you need to get to Rolanberry Fields, it's on the way from Bastok to Jeuno (the one I described before). My offer still stands to escort you there, if you want or need it.

It's only cutscenes for the first few missions, so you'll be able to solo it. Delkfutt's Tower is at the end of Qufim Island, which is entered directly through Jeuno.

You don't actually need to do that, just talk to Joachim once to start accumulating stones.

Mission rank 4 and 5 and promies if you're up for it (the next part of the Chains of Promathia mission line).
