Cant Find FFXI in stores anymore!!!!!

this game is not available for purchase in any stores anymore. You can find it on e-bay or amazon. (e-bay for $10-126) (amazon for $326!!) this is ridiculous. Can You please allow microsoft to make this available for purchase via the xbox live marketplace? I think it it unrealistic for u not to have a way for new players to play this game unless it is on the pc, which is the only way i can find to purchase this. (digital download for pc) I mean u are still releasing content, but u cant buy the game for the xbox any more? ive been playin this game ever since it came out on ps2 w/ the hdd, so now if my game disc gets broken, there goes my ffxi career? & ur monthly payments as well.... PLEASE HELP FIX THIS ISSUE!!

You could get used disc to play on the Xbox. And if you need a key for an account, you can get a new one off of SE website.

Amazon's a straight-up ripoff. You can download the Ultimate Collection+Abyssea on Steam (don't have the web address offhand but you can Google it), though. Setting up a Steam account is free and the download itself doesn't take very long--the updates, however, will take a LONG time so set some time aside.

Edit: as for XBox360, I can say that a look through EBay can lead to a good deal. Otherwise, it might be useful to download the Windows version if you have a PC/Intel Mac.

MS is still bitter about FFXI not requiring a Gold Live membership, and production of the discs has stopped. When the expansion comes out, they'll probably have a run of discs, just like they did at the last release. FFXI just needs one of the expansion discs in the system to launch the game. Otherwise you can borrow an installation disc from another player to set up the core game and earlier expansions. Buying used is the only other way currently.
