20h einherjar cooldown makes it tempting to just sponsor wing chamber clears like a voidwatch pickup group for 1-2k ichor per day.
As someone who has been frustrated when i miss the chance to do an einherjar due to rl plans and then hope 3days or more from that point I can find people+attend again, this change is like the best news ever.
Great news, Camate. Please tell the producers how happy we all are for this.
What would make this even awesomer would, as earlier mentioned, if we also could upgrade artifact armor to +2 from limbus stuff. There are some nice pieces there that look like they would be really nice with an additional upgrade. Plus, some of the AF looks way cool, and I want an excuse to use them more often.
I agree that +2 AF would be amazing! Limbus was always my favorite endgame event, and I'm saddened that hardly anyone runs it anymore. +2 AF would be a great incentive to start up again!
Also, we need a new use for ABCs, we used to need them for gear, that was ok, when the gear was good, new there are only a couple good pieces, rest suck. Neo-Limbus was supposed to give new use, but that didn't work either, its gear wasn't good enough to really drive people to want it, and even the pieces that do, do not encourage many runs, leaving alot of unused ABCs. These could be used for items involved in AF+2, new, better versions of the old gear, Boxers Mantle with +20s, new Brutal Earring with +2 STP & 7 Double Attack, Perfect Ribbon with even more resistances. Just to name a few things they could add, Limbus was and is a great event, but much of it has been lost since the level cap was removed, what was originally done to Neo-Limbus was nothing close to a revamp, it was just a small addition to make it a little better, yet its still hardly touched. I would love to see Limbus be reborn as a worthwhile and fun event, and adding new, worthwhile items, is just the way to do it, AF1+2 being one of the easiest, and best, ways to go about it.
Yeah, I too agree that AF1+2 would have been just the addition players need to make it as done as much as the original. Sadly, SE did indeed address the possibility and felt that the new gear + Homam/Nashira upgrades would be enough of an incentive. Not to mention, only two new areas + new boss areas isn't much room for AF1+2. I honestly feel they took the easy way out of making the content interesting for level 99 players. Einherjar was addressed well, since people only did it for Odin / alternative to kings abjurations anyways unless they were mainly after ampoules.
I'll be the first to say: No, it's not enough incentive. If you want to revive an event, it should offer everything the original did, in level 99 form, although I can appreciate their attempt to make more job accessible gear (Murzim/Shedir). This is why I pray Neo-Salvage gear rewards is done right. I am well aware they plan on creating gear in the Limbus mindset (Upgraded Ares/Morrigan/Marduk/Skadi/Usukane) along with new gear that also factors DNC/SCH.
Back then, as well, though - Homam hands/legs/feet was pretty much best in slot for TP for the jobs that could wear it, with the head being useless and the body being situational. Enif doesn't share this trait very well, but alas, the game has evolved quite a bit gearwise. Enif body sure is nice though - I'll give them that. The head retained uselessness, and I could see Paladins wanting Enif hands. I suppose the set also retains a nice HP boost for Souleater if DRKs choose to go that route.
I'm not sure what the general feeling is about Murzim, but I sure don't hear much about it. As a Dark Knight though, I can't think of too much reasons to want Murzim over Enif, except for Murzim Corazza for one without a Store TP body. Considering the only option is the augmented Adaman/Armada Hauberks, it's not a bad alternative, even if the augmented Hauberks are preferred along them all.
From a mage standpoint (reminder: Adhara: Lv99 Nashira, Shedir: New). Spoilered because it would make people scroll down otherwise!
I remember using the old Nashira for dark magic back then, but it was for dark magic. Not really sure what one'd want this for at 99.Adhara turban

Pure bard piece, doesn't stand out for anything else. This is the only song recast delay- on the head slot, which does make it unique. I suppose one could use this in conjection with Aoidos' Calot +2, as I'm pretty sure the delay- part takes effect when the spell goes off, not at the beginning like song spellcasting time- does.Shedir turban

Finally, a really decent dark skill body piece, with magic accuracy for Stun on top of it. That alone is reasoning... except..... for the fact people don't really abuse Stuns from any job but Scholar (Hi Legion), making this body a bit of a tease. Great for BLM though for sure.Adhara manteel

Easily the best piece of the Shedir set. Sure, it's no Cleric's Pantaloons +2 for White Mages, but it's pretty darn good otherwise, and the best enhancer for Stoneskin in the legs slot, offering +35 HP to Stoneskin. I could be a bit biased on this, seeing as barspells are incredibly essential on the right targets, but even then.. you'd want a White Mage anyway.Shedir seraweels

tl;dr: I realize this got long with the Temenos gear observing and thoughts. In the end, only a very few amount of pieces would be desired from Temenos II. They could've done better for mages as a whole.
tl;dr #2: Again, this post is essentially in agreement that there wasn't enough incentive done to the Limbus expansion to make it very desirable. I don't feel that 3 gear drops in the initial level 99 areas is enough incentive to make up for it, either. Limbus at 75 was a very successful event because of all that it offered, even if some boss drops weren't omgamazing, AF+1 availability made up for it.
WAR, WHM, BLM, RDM, DRK, BRD, SMN, BLU, SCH, GEO, RUN 99
I agree! To rectify that, I feel we ought to see new, level 99 appropriate areas in which AF1+2 items could be dropped along with a greater amount of ancient beastcoins.
I would like to see it work like assault. When your alliance leader is entering the area, you could have it prompt you about whether you want to do the lv.75 version or the new lv.99 version. It could be as simple as having the exact same missions (they were A LOT of fun as they were, no need to really make drastic changes) with an appropriate power increase for the monsters to maintain a similar level of challenge.
It would also be nice to see new, desirable level 99 items that could be purchased with ancient beastcoins, as items such as Loquacious Earring, Brutal Earring and Boxer's Mantle were also huge incentives to do Limbus. It's important to note that there was an item to appeal for each type of job. If the developers don't feel adding new items would be appropriate, perhaps we could have the ability to upgrade pre-existing Limbus rewards into high-quality versions? Loquacious Earring +1, Brutal Earring +1, Boxer's Mantle +1 etc...

Just to say Shedir seraweels are good, however Adhara seraweels not so much, Portent has 15 Enfeebling Magic skill, so they are not the best in slot in terms of skill, and unless I am wrong, the 4 skill and 4 Magic Acc should be about the same.
Greetings!
Just to let you all know in case you were curious or concerned…
When removing the EX status from Limbus chips, we will also be changing the system for entry so that these chips no longer remain in your inventory when used. Instead, they will be consumed to prevent the sale or trading of chips that have been used previously. As we are prioritizing convenience and the avoidance of trouble, any previously used chips that have not been consumed can be used one more time.
