    R/E/M Upgrade Suggestion

Seeing as almost everyone has turned into a frothing-mad lunatic, for good reason might I add, I figured I'd throw something out there to the dev team that is easy to implement and will calm, well, everyone. This involves one, maybe two, programmers and a writer working 15 minutes to do.

Here's the idea... Add a R/EX item to the drop pool of all 3 Delve bosses. These 3 different R/Ex items can then be traded with your R/E/M to the same NPC that offers Delve armor augments. Empy upgrade piece drops from the bee, relic from the shark, mythic from the dino.

These empy augments could give, say, DMG+100 and a stat boost that works with the weapon. Almace could get DMG+100 DEX+10 and Attack+20. Would most definitely bring it up to par with the new sword, and even make it a little stronger. Ragnarok and other relics would get a base DMG boost of 110 (considering them being harder to get) Ragnarok, with the boosts, would get DMG+110 Attack+20 and Acc+10 which would put it at 253 DMG Attack+20 Acc+50, which would make it more powerful than the Delve craftable GS. Mythics would get about the same augment path as Relics due to the similarity of the DMG.

Now, I'd like other players feedback on this and maybe we can get it implemented.

To the devs: I understand you're a bit under-manned and under-funded right now with SE throwing everything they have at the relaunch of XIV, but in order to ensure that XI survives this, you must appease the R/E/M holders. After all, they're the ones that have been paying their subscriptions for years. They love the game more than, well, probably anything else on the planet.

My only gripe would be that augments on R/M/Es look horrible and untidy, but that's one hell of a nit-pick.

It'd probably be best for them to just add that much to the base damage.

I'm sorry but I'm not a fan of using Delve to upgrade my RME. Leave Delve and SoA in general to the new weapons.

I simply want my base damage increased, period. I'm tired of reworking on my finished weapons that seem to never be really finished. Alternatively I would be willing to do more magian trials but I'm not sure it's possible with an afterglow trial around. It might be blocking the way for additional trials due to limits in the system.

I don't really care how they go about it if they decide not to waste my 8 years of playtime, as long as they don't shove delve and SoA down my throat to troll me. If I do delve it's because I want to, not because I have to. That's my rule and I'm sticking to it. The moment I feel like I NEED to do something rather than WANT to do something is the day I realize it's time to hang the boots up. I finished one relic so far and will eventually have multiple 99 RME.. multiple 99 REs. It's not my problem they want to ruin things with new super weapons.

So, they can either make it easy for me to get equal stats on my already finished weapon, because I said so because it's not my problem they decided to release new weapons, or they can say suck it and we'll see what the result of that response will be. I'm sorry if that sounds alot like self entitlement, because that's exactly what it is, but it's the truth. I did the work for my ultimate weapons and one shield so far, and one of those are lv99 thus far. I damn well fully expect that work to stand the test of time, for as long as the game is online, and you really cannot understand that point of view until YOU have done the work for yourself to obtain a relic or mythic or low manned your emp without the aid of an entire LS to spam kill abyssea NMs. And everyone who earns themselves one or more of those new shiny weapons that didn't earn RMEs is going to expect the same thing in the future. Knowing what it takes to obtain this stuff because you read about it and going through the experience yourself is two different things.

I don't hate the new weapons. I might even get one or two myself. But I'll be damned if my RMEs sit in my inventory, to never be used again. I strongly demand compensation. Whether it be 200 million gil returned to me via a NPC or a simple and more likely because it's far more realistic NPC trade in for a new top tiered SoA weapon of the same type that will gain the full benefits of the weapon being traded in, or any other idea of equal value, I'll be satisfied. I'll always have the memories, and I'll have compensation. I can live with having compensation. Without compensation, don't count on me paying a monthly fee to the game in the future. Not ruling it out, just saying, don't bet on it because I'm not even sure what I will do. I can't say that I will leave or that I won't leave. All I can say for certain is, with compensation I have no real reason to have hard feelings. The debt will be paid in full as far as I care. shrug. Give me gil, adjust the base damage on existing RME, or give me a trade in worthy of my efforts. Pick one, doesn't really matter to me. But making me jump through hoops, again, to improve my RMEs, again, isn't really an acceptable solution for me. If I want to upgrade my weapons often I'll go play another MMORPG where the idea of quested ultimate weapons are no where in sight.
