Okay, But, Yah, No. Solid no. Because all it becomes then is a gimp offhand weapon we're forced to wear. It would be a secondary Thief's Knife. Which if you view here:

Is not something good Thief's(Thieves) want. Ever. Though, I appreciate your enthusiasm friend, and can't blame you since the above thread has been closed forever... But yah, It would be a Wolf dressed in sheeps clothing, a Curse disguised as a blessing. Anything but a Weapon would be more preferable.

How many people still bother even swapping in Thief's Knife for anything other than group events where the THF is only brought for TH (Provenence, Legion)? Not only is it only like a 0.1% increase in drop rates, it wastes any TP you might've built up, so it's not even worth it.

For this specific idea, I think they should just add TH onto one of the existing good magian daggers (I guess Twash) and cap the TH+ from weapons at 1. There, everyone's...well, not so much happy as it is more like in purgatory as it usually is with this game.

Sorry, I probably should have given more details. What I meant from this is for other jobs (Besides THF and BST) to have access to Treasure Hunter via weapon rather than subbing THF.
