Ultimate Abyssea Edition code to upgrade existing account?

Hi, I would like to start playing FFXI again on my old account (I stopped playing 2 years ago) and I was wondering if it was possible to use the registration code you get from the Ultimate Abyssea edition to upgrade it? The account is 8 years old and has every expansion up to and including WotG.

Can I upgrade my existing account with the code I get or am I forced to create a new one?

This is less important, but I can use the Destrier Beret code on my existing account, right?

And if I indeed can use the codes on my existing account, I have to go through "Add a service account (add code to existing PlayOnline account)" right?

I just want to make sure it's ok before I rush into things and screw up somehow (quite an easy thing to do with Square Enix accounts, as I'm sure you'll agree )

Yes, you can. Simply acquire the registration code and input it in the account management system on the web, while logged in with your existing account. You might need to convert your old POL account to an SE account first. This doesn't cost anything, but it is exactly as user friendly as I am sure you are used to FF11 being .

After that, you naturally need to install the new expansion packs to your PC.

Just in case you're still looking for some info, our step-by-step process to add expansions to an existing account would be like this:
1. Log in to the Square Enix Account Management site at http://account.square-enix.com
2. Locate and click "Select Service"
3. Choose "PlayOnline / Final Fantasy XI"
4. Choose the blue button labeled "Add a service account"
5. Enter the registration code
