How do I get one FFXI account to work on two computers?

Ok, so... I've been searching the web all day and have found no answers(Other then I have to wait) to the error I'm getting when I try this(It's the FFXI-3100 error)

I believe the problem to be the above as it didn't start until I tried to set my account up on this computer while it continues to only work on my main.

I am not asking about having two characters on at once, I just want to play my account on this computer while I am away from home

Check your firewall settings on your router and on both machines. And if you're trying to play at work then they probably have it blocked.

For me, it has never required me to do anything more than just install the game on both computers. I don't think your error code is related to the fact that you want to play on two different computers, but rather an isolated problem on one of your PCs.

Ah... Hmm, I'm reinstalling now so we'll see if that fixes it

did you add exceptions to your the Windows Firewall (on by default if I remember right) for the FFXI executables (pol.exe, polboot.exe)?

Also, check your router's NAT settings (some have 2 or 3 security levels for NAT) and respond to ping settings (might default to block incoming port 53 or something like that).

My firewalls are off, and I forwarded my ports like someone else suggested on another forum :/

EDIT: I fiddled with the ping and NAT settings, no change
