DCings....

I don't know if this has been brought to the SE's Management but, there has been a lot of DCings lately. I am wondering what the progress is on this being fixed?

If there is a Thread already about this, please point me in the right direction.

This whole DCing crap is beginning to irritate me.

Unless you're talking about the meeble burrows issue, i think other d/c issues were addressed last patch. I know my shell had a ton of d/c's a couple weeks back post-patch, but are fine now. You may want to check your router, sometimes they don't want to cooperate w/ playonline and the rest of your internet can still work when you get d/c'ed.

Apparently, it has not be addressed. Since there are still other people being DC'ed like crazy, including me and my BF even now.

Haven't had any d/c issues while at work or at home. As Dragonlord said, check your router, also check your modem (if it isn't your router as well), and check with your ISP about service outages or spotty connection issues (chances are they'll give you BS about nothing being wrong).

None of the people I play with have been consistently "DCing like crazy". If you and your boyfriend live in close proximity, it is likely that you are just both affected by the same network issue. Seeing as all the game servers are in Japan, the route between clients and server is usually much longer than what it is for a lot of other sites you commonly visit. The longer the route, the more things could go wrong. A connection issue could be the result of a problem with any of the network nodes between you and SE's japanese server park.

To make an analogy: If you are driving your car from your house to the closest grocery store, there is a much smaller chance of getting a problem with your car or the road you're driving on than it would be if you drove from New York to Los Angeles.

Just DC'ed 3 times in a row just now. I already had reseted the router and the modem...and that didn't work. It must really be nice for you all not to be affected by anything. But, let's have SE try to investigate on what is wrong with their servers. I have never, EVER had this problem whatsoever. And now..? It is just ridiculous.

I'm not one to complain hardly at all about anything....but when I do, I certainly hope people actually cares enough about reading and understands what the heck is going on. And actually support me about things.^^

It's not that I don't believe you're having connection issues, I do but no else having the issue kinda points to the fact the issue is likely on your end not SE's.

Have you called your ISP to reset the connection to the modem?
Have you properly configured your router so that your computer or console that you play FFXI on is set to highest priority (this actually fixed my d/cing when my wife would hop on facebook to play games)?

I have my ISP come once a month to properly have the proper maintenance for my internet connection (this may seem like overkill, but I like my internet to be well maintained.) And I have the configurations correctly. My roommates also plays on FB ect, and uses Netflix and all But, they never once had DC problems. And yet I am kicked off of FFXI so much, points to the fact that it is NOT my Internet.

It doesn't make any sense. If others here are on the internet perfectly fine, and I am not. With everything configured correctly, with compatibility ect.

Also, my browser works perfectly fine. I can access the internet fine. So can my BF. It is that FFXI kicks me off for no apparent reason. It is happening to me and my BF more and more...and we both have different ISPs.

He is saying that he cannot get back on. And we were getting Helms of Briareus'. And before that, we were getting mass DCings. I am on now, but after multiple DCings.
