    You guys can use any security measures you want, Norton was just a suggestion. The whole point to this is the OP is talking about the security token but the thread is titled Mog Satchels. Which leads you can honestly tell which one OP wants to buy. We all should band together more and stop letting the man tell us how high.

    I would be fine with SE implementing the mog satchel into the game for everyone regardless of whether they purchased the token or not. Provided they also implement a policy in which accounts that do not have an active security token cannot be restored in the event of a hacking. If people want to forgo utilizing a simple and relatively inexpensive security measure to help further safeguard their account that's fine with me. However, the rest of us should not be made to incur the cost of their carelessness should something happen.

    Just that.

    I bought a security token for my main to enable the satchel, then deactivated it again. My mule is on the same SE account, but no idea how ordering a new security token for the same account while my main already had one would work. As of now, she does not have Mog Satchel access. Or can I retroactively activate the Mog Satchel on my mule, if I already had the token for my main once?

    Sorry for picking apart your post, but let me parse this so I can better address it:

    How do I order a new security token? I've already had one and it triggered a Satchel on my main character.
    You should be able to do this exactly the same way you would if you had never ordered a security token. Take a look at my previous post for the details on that. You might not need to buy an additional Security Token, though, if you still have your original security token you MIGHT be able to reactivate it as if you had never activated it, given the assumption that it has been deregistered from your Square-Enix account.

    My main character has the Mog Satchel. Can I retroactively activate the Mog Satchel on my mule?
    Not retroactively, but yes. The Satchel access is triggered upon character login, when you have a security token registered to your SE account. So if you re-register your existing Security Token (if it's still around, assuming re-registry is possible) or a new Security Token, you'll be set.

    I hope I've addressed your concerns here. Please let me know if I missed anything.

    Nah, thanks for the reply. I think I threw it away, though, so may need to reorder.

    I think that is already a policy. If your account is compromised in a way that would have been prevented by the security token, don't expect much courtesy from SE.

    Paying (a one time fee) for extra storage space isn't even a new thing in online games... it's practically in every game that uses slots for item storage, especially F2P games.

    It's not even like there aren't alternatives... can't afford the $10/once? Get a $1/month mule! Not as convenient, but you can get 15 of them before running out of char slots.

    Funny how everyone defends the stupidity of SE charging extra money on top of the monthly fees just for some inventory space.

    They already do without token you get one rollback. The guarantee with having a token is if you are ever hacked you can get a rollback.

    The new method for purchasing a security token is not immediately obvious, it takes a bit of poking around to find it.
    What you do is:
    A) Log in at https://secure.square-enix.com/account
    A1) Select "One-Time Password" under 'Services and Options' on the left side of the screen. (You may need to scroll down to see it.)
    B) You should now be at the URL https://secure.square-enix.com/account/app/svc/accSvc. Here you will see a link to read about one-time passwords and two options: "Security Token Usage Settings" and "Purchase a Square Enix Security Token".
    B1) Select "Purchase a Square Enix Security Token" and click 'Next'.
    B2) Now, read through and accept the Security Token Terms of Use agreement (or scroll to the bottom of it if you can't be bothered to know what you're agreeing to), check the 'I accept' box, and click 'Next'.
    C) You're now looking at a screen that will say the price of the Security Token and ask you to select your country.
    C1) After you select your country, input your shipping information. You should probably double-check and make sure you didn't mis-select your country. Then click 'Confirm Entered Data'.
    C2) Look over your information. There's a grey 'Edit' button you'll want to use if anything's even slightly off. If it all checks out, click 'Next'.
    D) PAYMENT! This is where things get annoying. You have two payment options: Click-and-Buy, or Crysta. If you choose the wrong one by mistake, go back to step A1.
    D1) If you purchase it with Crysta, it's 999 Crysta. If you don't have enough, you're going to have to go buy some Crysta and then go back to step A1.

    Alright I can't give step-by-step beyond that point as I'm not buying an actual Security Token or Crysta right now and I'm not touching ClickandBuy. But if you get to this step it's just a matter of giving SE your money and you should be set, aside from waiting for the damn thing to arrive through the mail.

    =====

    Once you receive your Security Token, go back to the account management login, and select "One Time Password" again. This time, select "Security Token Usage Settings" instead of "Purchase a Square Enix Security Token", then select "Security Token Registration". Agree to the terms of use again. Punch in your security token's Serial Number (the webpage shows where to find that) and punch in your security token's current one-time password and quickly hit Next before it changes.

    (Again, can't give directions past this point, but it should be easy enough.)

    Of course you will then need to edit your PlayOnline login to include the One-Time Password setting. Log in and *BAM!* instant extra storage.

    =====

    After you confirm you have your storage you can remove the security token... but if you do and your account gets hacked, you have only yourself to blame, no yelling at SE because you removed the security token your own damn self.

    Of course, using the security token is a constant-though-minor hassle, so it's up to you to decide where you stand on the security-versus-convenience spectrum[/SIZE].

    =====
    Edit:

    As a matter of principle, I agree with you that nothing purchased outside of the game should provide meaningful (non-cosmetic) in-game benefits. However, while I disagree with SE's decision to make a form of item storage available only through purchase of a security token, I understand why they made the decision they did - and I can see that their decision is not unreasonable, especially considering SE may not hold the same principles that I do.

    ALso... only your mule needs the extra inventory? Do you have a security token on your main character that is not applying to your mule, or simply don't need the space on your main character?
    YOU ARE THE BEST! Thank you Galkan brother! Thats what I was looking for, all the trolls in here saying "just throw down the 10 dollars!" Thats not the problem, I bought the Tidal Talisman, I don't care about throwing down a penny for this game, I just need to know where to throw my change at, and this post clearly has said it all, thank you!!!

    I think many ppl are missing the point of the Mog Satchel. It wasn't designed just so ppl can have more room. If thats all it was and they tried to sell that to us for real money, then i would agree, thats a bit much.

    Now what security measures you take is up to you. But SE was having a lot of problems with hacked accounts. So the security token was implemented to help counter that. The thing is, just offering that token wouldn't be enough. Most ppl still wouldn't get it. People like to believe "it hasn't happened to me, so it never will' type line of thought.

    So an incentive had to be given. One that make the player base at large get this item. And inventory room is one thing that most every player would agree on wanting more of. So it was designed as an incentive to get ppl to order the token. And along the same line of thought as before, 'everythings already set up so i could get satchel... mine as well use the token i have' comes into play.

    So SE isn't trying to screw you over with the satchel. Believe it or not, they are trying to help you with this setup.

    Side note: I cant count the amount of ppl that bought the token just so they can have the extra room from the satchel. Which is exactly why it was desiged in the first place!
