Black Hole/Limbo

Hey everyone,

I play FFXI on xbox 360 and have been doing so for the past six years. However, I have been experiencing this particular issue since thursday/friday of last week. What originally happened was I went to retrace myself (Deathhimself) from Port Jueno on the Bahamut Server. After the retrace was complete, my screen stayed black and still is. I logged out of the game and tried logging back at no resolve. There is no (downloading data) caption or anything, just an all black screen. I cannot hear game music or chat dialouges. After dealing with technical support from Playonline, Verizon, and Dish Network, the issue still is not fixed. Tech support from my ISP confirmed that my internet connection is great along with everything else that utilizes the internet in my home. All of the video cables and wires connected to my TV and xbox are intact and in the correct location.

I also went to Bestbuy and purchased the best router and modem they had to offer and that didn't help. I also installed the game at my mom's house and that didn't help at all either and she has a completely different ISP than I do. I created another character and that character loaded fine, logged in and logged out perfectly fine as if nothing is wrong. When I am stuck at this black screen, I also cannot access the Xbox Guide either. So how is it that this mule can log in and log out perfectly fine and my main character is stuck in limbo? I need assistance correcting the issue. Any help is greatly appreciated and patience is wearing thin. Thanks in advance.

Log on to that mule, then ask a GM to move your main character to their homepoint?
Alternatively, you could try logging in from a PC.

Since you blacked out after a retrace, do you think that mule of yours can get to the same zone walking, to see if he experiences the same problem? Might need to team up with someone, but I've done it solo.
