Information on setting up 3rd account (triple box) using a used 360 ffxi disc

Hi, I am seriously thinking setting up a third xbox 360 system for a 3rd character. My first and second characters were setup and are running without a hitch nor glitch because the game was bought brand new, making the registration codes valid. My concern here in setting up a third account is since the price of NEW FFXI game discs for xbox 360 are seemingly well above $100 us dollars (which is completely retarded) IF you can find them, I am thinking about buying a used copy, which intern brings up the problem of most likely the registration code (if even supplied) is INVALID due to age, claimed or whatnot.

So my question here is, Can you get a registration code for a new account? IF so, how much do they cost?
    Where can I find one?

Something tells me just to wait with this until the next expansion comes out so I can just buy it all in one for the xbox 360, but we all know when SE says they are going to release a game, its usually gets released about 2yrs after they said it was going to be. Playing this game on PC is totally not an option for me... so don't go there.. LOL Your information and time is much appreciated, just wanting to get this setup without to much of an SE headache.

For the Xbox 360, the only concern is having the disk based expansions. There are three disks involved here:
    • Original Xbox 360 disk with FFXI + CoP/RotZ/ToaU
    • Xbox 360 expansion disk with WotG.
    • Xbox 360 Ultimate Collection disk with FFXI + CoP/RotZ/ToaU/WotG

As you can see, you don't need a special disk for AMK, ASA, ACP, or any of the Abyssea expansions, since those were all downloaded content.

When Seekers of Adoulin comes out, you'll have to get a disk for that as well. Hopefully SE releases that disk with all the expansions on it to make things easier for players.

The cheapest and easiest way to get a code for an account that includes all the expansion packs and add-on content is to buy the Ultimate Collection - Abyssea Edition online. Many places sell it and will often have sales, such as directly from Square Enix's website, or from the popular distribution service Steam. The game with every expansion ever made costs $20 when not on sale and also comes with a code for a free hat.

You do not want to buy the game any other way - otherwise buying each expansion pack and add-on costs about $10 each, meaning you'd be paying somewhere to the tune of over $100 for what you can get for $20 or less, and you wouldn't get the hat. If you do get a working game code otherwise, buying the game and applying the game code to your account will unlock all the expansions for you as well, also making it the cheapest way to get codes.

Codes work dependently of platform, meaning that it doesn't matter if you've only ever played on the PC all the time, you could log into an Xbox with your PC account right now, or even a PS2. Keep in mind that when you log into an Xbox you have to link your account to a gamertag (which needs to be registered for the free version of Xbox Live in order to play), which will forever be linked, so if you want achievements from a particular account on a particular gamertag, be sure to link them wisely.

Should have just asked this way,
Hello forum members, hey I am a new player and bought a used copy of FFXI ultimate collection for XBOX 360. Problem is the registration code is invalid/used. Where can I find a new registration code?

    Teegrins, Ire!

As Economizer mentioned, you will need to buy the game again. Using Steam as an example, you can buy it there, get the codes, paint the man... I mean activate the content in your SQUARE ENIX Account, then play it on your Xbox (provided you have the game and expansions installed).

As also mentioned above, it does not have to be Steam; it is simply used for this example.

Please let us know, if there still is something unclear about this!
    Good luck~

I would have answered the same way. Buying a digital PC copy of the game online for the code is the single best way to get the game and every expansion for the cheapest amount of money, and as an added bonus, you get an extra separate code for a hat that helps you level.

Codes are the same between platforms. This means you'll be able to use the code to register an account then use the account on any platform, whether that is the PC, PS2, or even the Xbox 360, and you can log into any platform you have the game installed on.
