Abysea expansions - Xbox360

Hey,

Need some info on how to go about registering codes/buying the new expansions and scenarios when I play on Xbox. I've been looking for a good while and all I've come across is the digital downloads for the pc version. I'm wondering how I go about getting them for Xbox? I understand there is the "Ultimate collection" although it includes the first 4 expansions I already have! I don't want to have to re-purchase anything I just want to add the new ones onto my account!

You would essentially have to purchase the Abyssea Ultimate Collection that you see available for download at certain online retailers for the Registration codes in order to activate Abyssea content on your character. Unlike the major boxed expansions for FFXI such as WotG, Rise of the Zilart CoP ToAU; the Abyssea add on scenario installation takes place through the Version Update system (whereas WotG and the like require Hard Copy Disc Installs for the PC PS2 and 360).

My suggestion is find an Abyssea Ultimate Collection that is currently on sale (steam or the like) and buy it cheap. If you do go the steam route bear in mind you do not have to download nor install the full game. You just have to let it download to 1% and then you can right click the download to view the Registration codes that came w/ your online purchase and use the codes on your SE Acct Management User Home Page by clicking on "Add a Service" which is located near the bottom left hand side of the screen.

Once you have entered the code that comes w/ your online purchase, whether you play using any of the 3 FFXI platforms you will have access to the Abyssea add ons.

That's awesome. I was thinking that but didn't know if it was possible and didn't want to waste money! Still a shame I will have to buy the expansions again. I hope it's worth it! Thanks!

The abyssea expansions cost 10 bucks each when bought stand-alone, for a total of 30. The complete collection with every single expansion and addon costs 20 bucks or something on steam, so it's actually a decent deal, even if you re-buy some expansion packs.

hey i bought the pc verion with everything but when i try to play it on xbox its says not all expnsions are install i have the chains of promathia, rise of the zilart and treasue..... in one disc but. i bought the game used so why if i have all for pc i cant have all for 360

You need to have Wings of the Goddess Installed on your Xbox 360 as well. You're essentially missing a on Disc install Expansion that is not handled via the Version Updates.

EDIT: Basically you have the registration code for Wings of the Goddess already sorted out however your Xbox 360 does not have the actual data installed for the Wings of the Goddess expansion.

I actually had to explain this to an Xbox player I just met a day or two ago, so don't feel badly about it (well sorta anyways, it was related to Abyssea acquisition for the Xbox).

I've been looking for a good while and all I've come across is the digital downloads for the pc version.

For the Xbox version, you only need to worry about if you have installed Wings of the Goddess or not, after that you can just apply a game code to FFXI to get it. The problem is, finding any and all disks for the Xbox version is now harder then getting a Relic weapon (although not quite yet to the point of getting a Mythic).

The PC downloads for the FINAL FANTASY XI Ultimate Collection Abyssea Edition generally also come with the Destrier Beret and only costs $20 (less if on sale). Considering that when they first came out, each scenario and Abyssea expansion costed $10 each, it is a pretty good deal.

I believe as of the time of writing this, the PC download is on sale on SE's on site for like $16. There might be ways to buy the codes for expansions individually still, but considering that it will run $10 each, it is not really a good idea.

All that said, please strongly consider running this game on your PC. I know the Xbox doesn't yet have a web browser, so I think it is safe to assume you have a PC capable of running this game better then the Xbox port (especially with the new and improved UI coming!). Feel free to continue enjoying the game on your Xbox though, and good luck.

Where can I buy the abyssea expansion for less than 50$? And please don't ask me to check steam, because I have. They only list games for the PC. SE themselves even told me it is not their responsibility to keep track of the games availability even when their team says its available for purchase. With the PS2 maybe they are looking to cut out the xbox as well?

for 360/ps2 you need to have all the disk expansions for pc all you need is the Abyssea collection from steam /other seller

then you can but the Abyssea collection for pc and use the code provided on pc/ps2/360 and get

when Seekers of Adoulin comes out in 2013 you can buy the disk for pc/360 and if you live in japan you can also get a copy for ps2
