The FFXI 2012 Roadmap @ http://dl.square-enix.co.jp/ffxi/US/2012roadmap.jpg mentions that there will be Chocobo Digging Adjustments.
I have diggerbos that have been in retirement for a few years. These were raised to target more wood items or more ores as needed. I ceased using my diggerbos for profit digging because the more valuable items had dropped dramatically in price and were rarely in demand. Most of the dug-up items have low NPC resale value.
As for new adjustments to chocobo digging to give my diggerbos a reason to get off their lazy tail feathers it would be super kweh if:
1) Gysahl Greens stackable to 99 like bait is to fishing. Chocobo diggers have the same inventory issues as fishers did when bait were only stackable by the dozen.
2) New items added to the digging pool and rare items only available through Chocobo Digging to make Chocobo Digging profitable again. Perhaps the addition of mystery ??? items that can be appraised.
3) Perhaps new chocobo digging foods that boosts the ability of chocobos to target certain rare items. This would be the equivalent of using Dwarf Pugils and Drill Calamaries to target Matsya.
4) Quicker refresh of area digging pool based on diggers in the area.
5) Less reliance on moon phase for digging results as in fishing where you don't really need moon phase to dictate your ability to reach item limit fatigue.
6) I have to ask even though this is not exactly related to Chocobo Digging. Ever since the discovery that babybo Sakura is actually a magnificent, white chocobo royal, just about everyone has dreamed of having a white chocobo of their own. White chocobo, can we have it? The White Chocobo could be the Ebisu Rod of Chocobo digging!![]()
