Honestly idk, Ill probably leave this topic alone just because it involves something about BST and possibly Dyna, which are 2things that almost always piss me off in the end.

It has nothing to do with solo BSTs. It's a problem that I've seen occur on Jailer of Love a few times. If a SMN had an avatar out, and Love popped her pets, and then the SMN released their avatar before anyone took any action on Love's pets, the pets would automatically go after the SMN. The SMN did nothing to draw their attention, just the action of releasing their avatar was drawing hate. Love's hate was planted firmly on the tank, as were the pets, until the avatar was released.
I have experienced this issue.
In a group fighting Qilin, there is often a tank that is supposed to pull and hold the "pets" of Qilin if they spawn. The tank usually does do things like Provoke to get their attention. At the same time, I have had an avatar up doing attacks on Qilin without doing anything at all to the "pets". But when I release the Avatar, the "pets" leave the tank and come after me in spite of the fact I have done nothing to the "pets". And the tank has a hard time getting them back until I am K.O.ed.
I will be very happy to see this fix when I am SMN on fights like this.
It will have no effect at all on solo BST in Dynamis. This issue only makes itself visible in situations where several people are involved and some monsters are held by a tank while other monsters are defeated by the majority of the group including the pet master. (I assume it's the same for SMN, BST, DRG, and PUP.)
im always hearing things about release. but in my experience in various VW fights with pets is if i even summon a pet and jsut keep it next to me its all messed up. which sucks since ur pet depops when u start the battle. makes smn pretty useless in those fights.
If I am understanding this correctly, this problem was also relevant with Divine Might supertanking. IIRC, PUPs and DRGs and BSTs could never summon their pets because there was a big chance it would totally screw up a run.
If this is the case, it's about time SE.
I never even posted on these forums before that change was made, or any forums relating to this game at that time, maybe people with my mentality but not me personaly at all. However I must disagree, no matter what level a persons TH is, Dyna is a way to make money, that is something you are never really done with.
I do Dyna on RDM/DNC, without a THF with me I have TH1 just like any BST so long as I put on my TH sash for a hit. My only problem with BSTs or Dyna is where as most jobs/players will fight 1~3 mobs most BSTs I have ever seen or known fight 3~6 mobs at a time, which is overpowered by far to much since they can survive, proc, and kill everything without much of a problem. Some BSTs have even complained when I took a mob of theirs on occasion because "There are alot of mobs around to take" when half of the group is on them alone.
So take their mobs? It's white. You can't GM someone for taking a mob you don't have hate on. That's not polite? Umm neither is someone taking all the mobs in a zone when you only get to go to that zone for 2 hours a day. This has nothing to do with the topic.
I'm happy that SE is looking at the problem because Pet jobs are underplayed in plenty of content. No reason to hate on BST because some people chose to build one only for Dyna and Aby and then never play it again. People that actually want to take pet jobs to content should be reasonably able to do so because SE gets rid of bugs that could make their choice catastrophic for their entire party. Also, keep buffing Wyvern defense and lower blood pact recast. Pet jobs have enough bad press.
If you want your Pets to go buck wild, build a Mythic. It's already in the game. Guttler is for BST that do their own DPS.

I'm a RequieSCAT-MAN!
Another example of this glitch to better explain it to players whom are unaware of its impact:
When doing Morta, we had an Ochain pop it and he would stand in the corner and supertank Morta. In other words, nobody would engage or take any action upon Morta popping. Upon Morta spawning pets, someone would peel Morta off the PLD and the DDs would thusly begin to kill Morta. Now here's the crux: if a DRG/BST/SMN/PUP's pet was killed by Morta's AoE, all the babies which were previously halfway across the zone, hitting the Ochain PLD would stop hitting the PLD and attack the owner of the pet and then alliance hate would be generated and the babies would swarm the alliance. I've seen this happen in fights where PLD super tanks things. At first I was super incredulous when JP told me to dismiss my Wyvern, but after doing so, babies never came off the PLD and for future fights where supertanking was used I forced players to dismiss their pet i.e against Faljar,Bismarck,Morta etc.
