    the amazing disappearing abjuration!

So, as the title suggests I fell victim to a vanishing abjuration.
I did a provenance run today between 1700 and 1930ish uk time.
One of the caturaes I fought dropped a "corvine abjuration: hands" in my glimmering trove.
I was subsequently lucky enough to obtain the corvine body abjuration in my glimmering trove from provenance watcher later on.
satisfied with todays provenance run and thinking all was well with the world I returned to jeuno and proceeded to craft.
a short time later I was shocked to discover that my corvine abjuration: hands had vanished from my inventory. I remember specifically placing it into my satchel to make room to purchase a palladian brass ore from one of my fellow players. and yet upon my return to jeuno it had vanished. I discovered this after having commited to an akvan shout group. so to be sure I could fullfill my obligations to said shout group I proceeded to travel to lower delfkutts tower, once inside I made my GM call, I explained the problem to the GM. The GM investigated and after several attempts they could not find any evidence of the abjuration ever having dropped to me. yet I know it did, I announced it in party chat, people from the alliance remembered me doing so. The GM claimed the server had no record of me obtaining it.

Quite frankly this is not acceptable. It's not the GM's fault there was a problem server side, however I lost out on a reward I had worked hard for and to have it vanish out of existence is beyond reason. This is as bad as when my briareus helms disappeared from the magian moogle's records, only worse this takes an 18person alliance to attempt to re-obtain and significant ammount of time. I am flat out telling you, this is not fair by any stretch of the imagination, do I now have to screenshot all drops I receive so that I can have some form of evidence when they disappear? I pay for a service, let's not forget that I've forked over money every month since I bought this game practically. We're talking years of fees paid. I demand that a) the error is corrected server side. and b) that my abjuration be returned to me.
I can't stress enough that I do not like being robbed of the fruits of my labour.
Imagine if I took away a everyones pay check for this month at the part of square enix responsible for this, they would be equally unhappy. Yes, I know this is a game, a game that we pay monthly fees to maintain the server and to fund future developement of the game itself including to fix errors with the current game.

one very unsattisfied customer here, and I'm sure I'm not alone.

This reply as detailed as I can remember. the time is approximate due to not realising till much later than it presumably vanished.

    platform: windows 7
ISP: AOL(now owned and run by talktalk)
    Type of internet connecion: DSL
Internet Connection Speed: "up to 20Mbps" (infact the speed is around 5-6Mbps)
Date and time: 15th of july 2012, between 1700 and 1930 british summer time.
Frequency: well this issue has occured once. I'm not sure if you wanted something different here....
    Character Name: Czephiroth
    Race: Elvaan (male)
    World: Asura
    Main Job: Dragoon
    Support Job: Warrior
Area and coordinates: provenance and jeuno and anywhere inbetween that I travelled?(seriously who keeps track of co-ordinates? and does provenance even have co-ordinates?)
Party or Solo: I was in an 18 man alliance(which I announced the drop to upon receiving it from the glimmering trove)
NPC Name: N/A (unless you count the glimmering trove and the delivery npc that I interacted with before I discovered the abjuration missing)
Monster Name: N/A (it dropped from one of the caturae fights in my glimmering trove)
    Steps:
    1. Fight each caturae pair in the corresponding raidience (I didn't take note of which one at the time)
    2. Check the glimmering trove after each fight to obtain treasure.
    3. jump for joy as you find desirable treasure in your glimmering trove.
    4. place an ammount of that treasure into your sack or satchel (the abjuration in question) to make for purchasing a synthesis material from a fellow player.
    5. fight provenance watcher
    6. check the glimmering trove
    7. return to jeuno after a successful fight
    8. begin sorting through your inventory sending synthesis materials to various other characters on your account.
    9. suddenly realise your abjuration has disappeared after joining a shout group
    10. after making sure you can fulfill your obligation to the group you have joined, call a gm and ask where the abjuration disappeared to.
    11. hear the response of the gm being to deny that you ever received the abjuration according to the server logs.
    12. feel frustrated that you have had an item you obtained through effort vanish into thin air
    13. post on the forum in an effort to have the error rectified

    11. hear the response of the gm being to deny that you ever received the abjuration according to the server logs.
If the server says you never obtained the Item... I think you're a victim of false memory. False memory is when you /know/ you did something, but you never did. Are you sure you didn't stuff a different abjuration into your sack and its mistaken identity? Say.. the body you got in the same night?

The only time i've ever in my entire time playing FFXI had known an item to disappear was with a friend. They moved a Light staff, and it was gone, But logging out/Logging in fixed the problem, as it was a display glitch only. Nothing on FFXI's green servers cause an item in your inventory to permanently disappear short of /tossing, even that wouldn't magically make it not show up in the Chat Logs.

I'm trying hard not to jump to conclusions, But GM's can look at logs and tell if you ever got the drop, and if its not there, you forgot to pick it up, and you're mixing the abjurations up. If not, I really really hope you get your item back, Those are good Hands :|

    Edit; Huh, I know you.

    I really wish it was my mistake, I would have screenshotted it if I had realised it would disappear, but I only had one abjuration on me at the point I bought the p.brass ore, the other one I got after fighting provenance watcher^^;
