Removing the border in windowed mode

I would like to suggest that we have the ability to turn off the window border in windowed mode. With the border turned off, I could play at my max resolution without the font being distorted. Essentially, I would like the look of full screen, with the functionality of windowed mode.

Is this possible? Maybe something to be considered for future game updates?

    Thanks for reading.

If you are using Windows 7, and thus unable to move the title-bar off-screen, you can turn off “Prevent windows from being automatically arranged when moved to the edge of screen”, found in “Make the mouse easier to use” (I believe that is in the “Ease of Access center” of Control Panel).

I'm quite certain that's the option that was OK enough for me, when I still used windoze.
Now I use Linux, and I can make anything, and/or everything borderless if/when I want to. ^^

It would be a nice option for FFXI itself, but I fear it might be too much work heheh...

It can be done, just SE needs a new wrapper to make it happen. Would be nice if they could do something with the SoA release next year....but that's a long way's off still. However, there are alternative ways to do what you ask....but they cannot be discussed openly here. Ask around your LS...someone there can likely hook you up.

Oh, I know about the alternative, I just don't use it due to obvious reasons.

I tried turning off the feature you mentioned Dragoy, unfortunately my text is still distorted, and I can't get the window to snap back to my maximum resolution.

I appreciate the feedback. Thank you.

Yeah, it's not a perfect workaround. If I remember right, you can't still move the title-bar off completely; it'll be slightly visible. It's been probably nearly 2 years since I fired up FFXI on Windows though, and that's pretty much what I just lived with back then.

I remember that annoyance too well, though, starting from when I switched to Windows 7 from XP. If it's not at the exact resolution, it will look just terrible. >.< I tend to have the window smaller than the screen due to usually having more than the game going. Other game(s), video, chats, whatever, and prefer to see more at the same time (should really get another display again).

I might have eventually just set the FFXI resolution to some smaller value where I usually kept it either way...
