    In Game Wedding Ring Idea/Suggestion

Ok I know it's really random but hear me out. Yesterday, while using my Nexus Cape, I wondered why there aren't more items similar to that and tried to think of items that would be viable. Got to thinking about in game marriage and wondered, how many people actually go through the in game wedding ceremony? I've asked people before who have done it, what the point was and what do you get. Most people just say they did it to say they have done it and all you get is a marriage certificate and engraved rings.

So I ask this question. If you got rings with an enchantment that allowed you to teleport to the holder of the other ring, would you be more inclined to go through the in game wedding process? I know there are a lot of different ways to get around these days with crag warps, op warps, maw warps, etc. but having one more option wouldn't be a bad thing. Anyway, just thought it was an interesting idea and thought I'd ask what others thought. Oh and don't make the enchantment 20hrs like the Nexus Cape. I find myself not using it in a lot of situations, holding out for the occasion where I really need it since the cooldown is so long. I don't see why a cooldown would be needed but if there is one, 4hrs or less would be good. I think it would promote the in game wedding event which most people know nothing about and don't bother with plus it benefits those people who spend a lot of time playing with a specific person. Any thoughts/ideas?

If I remember correctly weddings are directed by GMs with full ceremony. I don't believe it should be done for some perk for several reasons.

Weddings have been massively changed from what you think. They used to have GMs hold weddings, it was a special ceremony with alot of work & detail from what I know. Now it is simple, each person buys a ring for the other, they engrave said ring with wind crystals and then trade them. While wearing the rings you talk to a NPC in certain areas, and they give you a certificate that says you are married. That is all, very bleh in my opinion. However when I married my gf's character we did a ceremony in Hall of the Gods still, and using the Player Event Support you can have NPCs around for it as well to help you make it feel more special.

In the end it would be somewhat nice for them to do that, but not make it as a reason for people to do it for just that reason, which is the problem. I would like an item with the same idea, have a person engrave it and you can warp to them when you use it, with a low reuse timer, however it should not be these rings.

Ok I see where you are coming from. Maybe having the rings as part of the wedding and being a 'perk' would be a bad idea. How about a quest line that you complete as a duo that rewards you each with a r/ex ring (that way you can't have several rings to teleport to different people)? I regularly play with another person and it would be nice to just log in, use an item of some kind and be right there to help her with whatever she may be doing. I'd rather not have to spend the 5 to 15 min of running, depending on where she is. Maybe I'm asking for too much.

Nope I completely agree with you on that, it would be a very cool thing to have, and a quest wouldn't be bad for an idea either. Much like how the Sleepga II quest has a segment that you have to go through a "compatibility test" with other players for it could register 2 players in the same party are nearby. It would start a CS asking if you wish to start the quest, in which it would start you both on the quest at the same time, and once you complete it, upon returning they give you special engraved rings. They tell you that to complete the quest you showed a remarkable bond of friendship and these special enchanted rings, would have the power to warp you to one another. It could be a quest involving the new expansion and a form of magic we have not seen. I would like it to be after the expansion at least so it is more likely to have those areas active for it as well. As much as I like the Nexus Cape its very restricting so much so that even The Sanctuary of Zi'tah is unable to be warped to, which I think is a problem with items like this they should address.

i think a couples quest would be much better. Most ppl who do wedding are dating via the game, irl, or extremely close friends. I saw a player wedding and it was nice. I miss that event where u grouped up with a friend got teleported to a random zone @ lvl one. had to find each other, then a ??? by /healing. A quest like that would be cool.

Stuff like that promotes teamwork. (something lacking now a days)

I still would prefer this be kept to a valentine's day event. Keep in mind I'm not against linked warp items, but not from weddings.

I'm somewhat disappointed that SE homogenized the wedding ceremony, even if I can understand why.

My wifey and i got married in game back in 2008. Was an amazing wedding at that even though i got lagged out by too many people using fireworks lmfao. Anyhows my wife and i always thought the rings should have "something" on them and with the new rings its more of an insult to see in someone's bazaar rather then on their finger. I actually have a macro for when i'm not fighting that puts it back on.
I personally think it should turn EX once you get the NPC to say your a couple with the new rings, i find it lame that you put in your bazaar for maxed price. If you went through the trouble to marry someone in the game WEAR THE DAMN RING.
But so for effects i've always wanted one on it but then everyone would get married to their mules/bot programs to enjoy said effects. As nice as an effect is, people would dirty the very items of marriage for a simple buff.
