Retrieving old PlayOnline/FFXI account (from 2004)?

I just started playing again after about 8 years away. I'd really like to get into my old account and possibly restore my old main character as well. Since it was 8 years ago, I lost the ID and Password associated with the account. And I've no idea how to even go about retrieving it. I tried the SE help desk support form thing, but it just keeps looping and telling me some required info is missing even though there isn't. Tried that 3 times before I gave up. Has anyone else tried to do this with any success?

Sure it's fun (sort of) leveling a brand new character, but I'd love to be able to just jump in to some of this cooler new stuff with my old RDM, which I quit around lvl 60 if I remember correctly.

It will definitely be difficult, if not impossible without any account credentials. Perhaps if you can prove paying for the service, it could be linked to your account but I am unsure if they are willing to go that far.

In any case, you should use the Support Centre/Center, as the staff can not deal with account details here, and the PlayOnline viewer is not used for anything account related (except for logging in) any longer.
