this is why you dont build civilization or large manufacturing companies, or anything near large bodies of water, in an area that is susceptable to natural disasters

Does this answer your question as to why we've not received an update? -.-; ... I really hope there aren't any more threads like that ofter seeing these slides... Yes I know SE servers aren't located here... but #1 check the power plant out... and #2 how many relatives do you think live in any of those houses from the other slides? Truly tragic

its crap like this that blows my mind...... i got an idea, lets build a civilization where real life doesnt matter where nothing will ever happen to prevent people aka the REAL human race from playing an effin video game.

Dont know if you have thought about it much but, many of the People you have played with live in this so called Civilization of what you speak of. Been friends with them for years, granted ive never met them in RL but they are still friends....... now picture your friends in the game we all love to play..... and could be one of the houses in those pictures..... they have nothing left what happens when you log on when the servers come back up and friends that you HAD no longer log on.

I love FFXI i always have ever since it released in NA made great friends from all over the world and right now i dont care how long it takes to get the servers up i just hope my friends that are going through things we have Nightmares about are ok. Show some respect people..... please.

    1. Areas near large bodies of water, though susceptible to natural disasters, thrived historically. The best examples of this are Britain and continental Europe. Access to bodies of water initially served farming and fishing purposes (Hello agriculture and hunting+gathering). As globalization emerged and marine power became important, these locations remained important despite the setbacks.

    2. Nuclear plants use large amounts of water. In the US, we have large bodies of water (Lakes) inland that we can take advantage of (Ending with preposition). I'm uncertain on Japan's geography, but I recall it being internally mountainous and lacking of similar bodies of water.

first of all, ur a lunatic to economics and the nature to survive for humans if u say dont build near water bc of the 1 in liike 100 years events that may occur. People flourish over the sea bc of the food it provides, the power it may give u (water turbines), and its the gateway to other parts of the world. Do you really think mankind can resist these factors in contrast of beind hit by a tsunami every now and what... 150 years?

if u paid attention during history class u know damn well that water is something to a city that makes a city either flourish, and with no water, well good luck on sustaining life <over there> .

the quote i quoted from u gives me the idea that people over that *ucked up their way of life and are now paid for. ANYWHERE on the world it aint safe! u have volcano's, monsoons, tsunami danger, earthquakes, landslides, to cold to hot stuff... and MORE to think of like in ur idea is not to build civilisation over there.

think about ur own town... maybe u think now u have to move out of there too or just go with the flow of life like we all do!

    yes im rawrawr
