lol camiee.
You seem to be the most damaged person ive ever seen post here.
When I see someone playing with bad gear, do you think i start sending them tells about how much they suck? Dont you think Im doing it to help them to better enjoy the game? This is NOT A SINGLE PLAYER GAME.
You know what I do when someone suggests better gear or a better way of doing things? I research, experiement, then most likely change to follow the suggestion.
Other people may have information I can benefit from, crazy concept right?
Thanks for the free analysis, Doctor. I applaud you for doing pro bono work online.
Good intentions or not you're offering unsolicited criticism of total strangers. If you expect anything other than them going into defensive mode, then you apparently don't have much experience with human interaction. They're being perfectly normal in their response. You're just being weird and creating, at best, a very awkward situation. When I see someone playing with bad gear, do you think i start sending them tells about how much they suck? If the person is not teamed up with you in any way then you have ZERO business confronting them in any way about how they are playing unless they are directly impacting your play. This is NOT A SINGLE PLAYER GAME.
If you enjoy getting unsolicited advice or criticism from total strangers that's fine. Good for you. Everyone is not you, and they are not "damaged" (to use your terminology) because they deal with things differently than you.You know what I do when someone suggests better gear or a better way of doing things? You want some unsolicited advice from me? Learn how to better interact with people. Be delicate with and humble around people you don't know. Be less critical of others. Don't come off as some kind of know-it-all. Don't expect others to respond to criticism in the way that you would. If you'd like to offer people advice then create a website or contribute to one of the wikis. Put the advice in a form where they can seek it out on their terms rather than having it forced upon them in a manner they may not be comfortable with.
Just trying to help you better enjoy the game.

Why dont you turn on say, party, shout, and tell chat filters if you hate other people's opinion so much
When someone drops their opinion on me, its often worth exactly how much I paid for it.
You know perfectly well that you're not helping. The above statement is all about self-gratification, NOT helping other players.

@ Camiie, sounds like you'ld like a T-Shirt I made when I used to work in a shop: "If I wanted your opinion about Jesus, I would've asked!"
You give criticism when the receiver is receptive, otherwise, no. If you think you know better, fine-smile smugly and move on. It's entirely possible that the guy "doing it wrong" (who did you notice is STILL winning?) ISN'T doing it wrong, he's just doing it a way you don't LIKE. Granted, I agree, any beast on an NM who turns down help for a proc is a fool-unless the proc you need is axe-unless the offeror is after the same thing as the beast (hard enough getting some pops on beast without having to give them away to annyone offering to help). If you just want to chime in with a "need any help?", fine, but don't offer any advice or criticsm unless the guy says something like "wow, nice damage, how'd...?" Otherwise, all you are doing is labeling yourself as an asshole in the other guy's mind.
To clarify my point from earlier, if I or a group I'm in ever offers to help someone who is able to get the job done without our help, our only reward is helping them to get their item so that they are no longer competition for us, and getting them out of the way faster so that we have more time to get our own item(s). We would only ever take items dropped by that mob if the person who we helped tells us specifically that they are not interested in said item, or they already passed it in the treasure pool.
I would never offer to proc a mob, or help them to kill it faster and then lot against them. Even if we are only after the very same item.
Another nice way of giving advice is turning on mentorship status and telling politely. If they get offended, just point at your mentor flag. It is what mentors do. I've had my mentor flag on constantly since I got it and always offer help where available.
Samurai Archery is said to be a thing of the past, but it isn't dead yet!
While we're kinda on that topic:
Quite some time ago (pretty sure before 99 cap) I was out soloing Koios on my BST for seals, and killing it as fast as I could. This other group comes along and waits around and then starts doing frustrated emotes at me. I'm certain that they were after abyssite upgrade, but I didn't see them around when I spawned the NM. I extend the offer to them to team up so it will die faster, but they actually decline for whatever reason. So I just sit there letting Yuly whittle it down while they /fume and /angry at me. What else could I do? Ehh, ya never know what kind of weirdos you'll run into in the wacky world of Vana'diel.
