I like to sit around eating bibiki slugs in town, you get the funniest reactions from people.
The only time I keep a RR charge on is when I'm soloing Dynamis and even then I can count on one hand where I've died so I almost see it as pointless but I like being prepared. It comes back to the point that if you're a BST, there are superior options then Twilight Body being fulltimed.
Don't get me wrong. If you suck at this game then sure use Twilight Body and never macro swap into anything else. However if you want to really play as a good BST, at least wear a Mirke Wardacors with good pet Augments and worry more about your pet's performance then yourself.
There's times when you can screw off on trash mob and go full on out with a decent TP/WS build and then there's times when you sacrifice your own performance to ensure your pet's survival. It's a fundamental core of how most BSTs with a good level of sense in their heads along with a personal pdt/mdt build/reward build tend to not die hardly because they're smart enough to use macros and gearswaps.
It just comes back to my original point. Lazy players die faster then players who arn't lazy.
Unless you only send your pet in, you're far more likely to do more damage yourself than your pet on anything worthwhile.
Don't get me wrong, improve on your pet, but if you can improve yourself much more then that's a better option unless you're soloing an NM etc that has dangerous AoE.
I won't argue with that. In fact it comes down to the idea that if you do it right your pet can end up putting out more damage then you in the longterm leaving you free to smack the crap out of whatever you're fighting. AoE mobs I tend to keep back on just because they're usually too dangerous to melee in the 1st place.
It's all about balancing yourself along with your pet to ensure that you don't make any mistakes and you allow yourself some "Leg Room" when there's a chance shit can hit the fan. Twilight Body is good for two things really. Ruinator and Reward. Living off it just for Reraise is just stupid.
Here's some basic examples I can point out..
Pet pdt and haste. This is pretty much giving yourself full support to your pet. With Augmented gear like Armada feet and whatnot along with relic +2 legs, You can give your pet a full 24% haste which is pretty damn awesome. Pdt naturally comes into play as well.
Reward. Just trade the Osode for Twilight Body and you've got the idea. It really amazes me how many people play this job and have 0 idea how Reward really works. Along with Augmented Relic as well & merits, Giving your pet a huge regen along with the Reward use pretty much ensures that most mobs you're fighting won't kill your pet anytime soon if at all.
TP build. Sadly as much as I'd like to fulltime this as a TP set, you need something like Brego Gloves to hit the haste cap. This is pretty much one of the better sets for a TP build with a huge amount of accuracy and attack. There are of course ways to cap haste around it but I prefer this just for the overall stat bonuses.
Ruinator. It's an amazing weaponskill. I can't tell you how much I was happy BST was thrown a bone finally for something so strong that wasn't Rampage. I have Mekia Head also which I normally use but for mobs with higher evasion Twilight Helm is decent enough since all these new WSs suffer an accuracy penalty after the 1st hit.
Most of this gear is easily obtainable and or doesn't cost a lot to get. I don't see what's so hard for some people playing BST to spend a lil extra gil to make sure they're saving money in the long run without burning thru jugs so fast.
There's more I can add to this but I'm in the middle of an event so I'll probably post more later.

btw here my suxy BST (it's geared mainly for Dyna)
my suxy tp set only has
capped haste
20% pet haste (inc familiar +10% augment bonus)
5% Triple attack.
11% Double attack.
5% crit rate.
So yea my bst is pretty decent.
So to the point you over reacted at.
I was saying Twilight set is decent.
*By decent i do not mean it's the best in the game so please don't overract and call me a noooob D: i mean the STR (attack fSTR) Dex (+crit% acc) and ACC/ATK Acully increase your dmg relative to a lvl 18 peice of gear which OP was about.
Either way i don't understand this elitest crap.
if you can farm a mil in 2hr using twilight set it's bad?
U know when i start dyna i was using Twilight and some perle and some other junk i had crossed over from other jobs and i was pulling in like 100-120 coins which was 800k in 2 hours (now i pull in 180-250 <3 )
Which is the point i'm trying to make if a bst is using Twilight set to farm dyna and they have nothing better there still making decent gil it's a bad thing? or should he listen to you guys go on about it like it's the worst thing ever.
Infact it would be dumb for bst not to do dyna(aka play bst) w/ gimp gear once there strong enough to survive in there.
Main : 99 DRK
Subs : 99 SMN COR SCH MELEEWHM
Server : Ragnarök
Relics : 95 Ragnarok and 95 Apoc
Ironic that when i was young i never had enough video games but now i have too many and not enough time to play them.
Pretty impressive set I'll give you that. My point was that is somehow you *not you directly* have Twilight Body and you've yet to actually complete a +2 body or even yet a Mirke Wardcores then yeah you're doing it wrong. It's got nothing to be about being elistist, it's about just doing it right.
BST has way too many options out there to not get something better for a tp piece then twilight body.
Overall impressive gear tho.

Ferine Gausape +2 is my absolute favorite piece for Bst. (I really want Phorcys, but... ) If you are fighting something that you have killer effects against, then Gausape +2> Phorcys Korazin. Which is a funny piece of irony imo. I love it because it is a very cool, unique bst approach to DD.
BST has a ton of options for how to cap haste, which means there are alot of close options for how to make your tp set. It would not be hard to make a capped haste set and have the Twilight mail on. Shucks, If I put Perle sollerets on I could do it (I like having as much pet haste to go w/ master haste however).
I don't care for gear elitism, but I really like collecting good gear! I like tweaking sets and comparing, but the mentality of bashing players for gear choices is so 2009 :P
Players are burning jobs up levels super fast, its not worthwile to gear for level 50~99 very much. AFter you get the job up, do you really want to collect all that gear for it if you will only use it for one specific purpose? Unless you are fighting the Top NM's in the game w/ it, the gear choices won't be critical... They are just to have fun with.,,
Choh Moui | Rongo-Nango | Lhu Mhakaracca | Lungo-Nango | Nyumomo
--Beastmaster Forever--
You know you can sit here all day and talk about tp/ws/-pdt/-mdt/dt/haste/stp or what ever else set's that comes to mind and yet there's some guy who goes "WTF are they talking about" look's at his Twilight set and goes "Oh, Shinny"
The day a solo bst gives a f about what others think is the day he should delete his character period. Your a solo bst do whatever you feel like doing if wearing nothing letting your pet do all the work so be it its your toon and coin and time no one elses. Free the bst lol...
When I start to care about what others do solo its time to quit cause this game would be giving me mental issues at that point that's for sure....
