Suggestion: SE token app for cells phones

i bet i'm in the same situations as alot of you that i constantly misplace my token and spend 10-15-20mins looking around for it. I was wondering if there's any chance the devs could whip a quick app for iphone, blackberry and android phones that simulates your token. Hell i would be okay with paying a dollar or 2 for it for all the time it would save me in the long run

That would defeat the security concept behind the tokens. I coulda sworn that might came with a key ring <_< WHy not put them on your keys?

The guys behind the Digipass token already have a virtual / app system on their website.

I don't know what would be involved on SE's part to implement it mind, I briefly played with their Free app in the store but meh at getting it to spit out a code that matched my token.

As for security, I would be happier having an App on my phone than carrying my token between sites, its larger, i use it more for work, and my phone is pin-coded before you can run the app, rather than find the token and press it. Also, Mobile phone is rechargeable =) no need to worry about the battery life of token and it's non-replaceable-ness!

The small size of the token made me realize that my usual coat has a small hole in the pocket, and lost one of the tokens lol.

WoW already uses smartphones digipasses, so its entirely possible. SE just needs to implement it. Both WoW and SE actually use the same digipasses in fact. I have both in hand here, same thing, different drawings.
