All in all yes they are losing money. Not only are they losing money right now they will lose money when some people do not come back.
Now they are not putting their game servers on line for the game but that doesnt mean they dont have some people still working.

Why does everyone think FFXI is their only revenue? I guess they never publish or release anything else. i must be living under a rock.
