Okay, standing in one place for 9 hours = difficult now huh? I bet you're undefeated at watching paint dry... if only the rest of us had mad skillz (nothing better to do with their life) like you.

Games are supposed to be fun. I don't need a computer, a game, or a monthly subscription to sit and do nothing. As a matter of fact, I get less strange looks from people when I do nothing without all those things.

You are not working hard, or showcasing skill when you do these trials. Get over yourself. When people hear that you finished one of these trials, they don't think "wow, he's a hard working skilled player." They think "Wow, those trials are friggen lame. I bet he's glad he's done wasting time on that crap.".

why for godsake people need to wait hours and hours of camping and killing place holders for just 1 Too weak NM? like the other guy said game are supposed to be fun.

No one on here complaining about VNM, why? it 1 hour only, no dumb place holder, and it a bit challenging and fun to team up with people. but you tell me how sitting at a pc screen sitting around a low lvl spot killing place holders for who knows how long with 5+ is fun? it boring and Just stupid that these NM take hours to pop. that part need to be changed

I guess some people love these dumb challenges, and consider it accomplishment to do nothing but watch paint dry, it is a test for their dull boring mind. Or probably jealous that if they adjust this, then he felt he is entitled for something because now everyone no longer have to do these dumb boring stupid challenge.

I made one, and I STILL think it should be changed. It's not about difficulty, it's about quality of content. It's about fun over tedium. This kind of crappy content makes the game look bad. Imagine showing FFXI to your friends and they see you standing around camping NMs and swatting Too Weak placeholders for hours on end. They have every right to criticize the game as being boring and laugh at you for playing it.

True story I got a friend to play FFXI he bought the downloadable abyssea edition for $10. He leveled up well we helped him a lot in abyssea. Then he got started on making the H2H weapon and he didn't like the camp weak NMs for hours part and stopped playing FFXI only after about 2 months.

Its true that if you haven't played FFXI for a long time, most people would not be able to put up with camping lottery spawn nms for hours on end.

SE could get rid of the whole camp weak nms part and just start on VNMs. The newer upgrades shield and harp don't even have a weak NM phase because I think by then SE knew that people didn't want to do that crap and they very well could of had it. If they don't want to change that much of the game they can easily shorten repop times to 5 min and have them just pop instead of lottery. FFXIV has this and it works fine. Many quests in FFXIV require killing NMs and its not big of a deal because they have a 5 min repop and just pop in to the game and are not lottery.

I cant believe someone would make a thread about this and seriously think those trials are hard and need adjusted. You should just quit FFXI now, it's going to be very hard for you when it comes time to actually do stuff.

see the problem is that its not hard.it's actually quite easy. what it is is extremely, and unnessecarily time consuming and in no way provides any kind of challenge. i have no problem actually 'doing stuff' as you put it, and am now at the vwmn phase, and am having fun with the trial, because im not sitting in one zone for hours on end doing nothing but killing extremely low level mobs waiting for an extremely low level nm to pop.

The challenge lies in the ability of someone to go do the trials and actually finish before giving up out of boredom. Personally I find doing other things and only paying attention when the PH is about to spawn best. If you look at the wiki the widescan order for the PH is generally listed, if it matters, so you actually only have to kill 1 mob every 5 minutes. Right now I would recommend Diablo 3, its not as good as 2 honestly, but its new and still pretty fun to play.

LMAO. Yeah that's the sign of a great game. What a challenge! I managed to not get bored and I got this awesome weapon!

Should put that in a game review as a positive aspect and see how well that goes over. "The best part about this game is the hours I spend with it running while doing other things!"
