If they think this fight is "too easy" then the next version will spam -ja's with instant-cast speed, use 1000~2000 damage aoe's back to back, have a variety of instant death moves and a maybe a charmga just for good measure. The Stagger effects (ever notice how everything since Abyssea seems to be a copy of FFXIII btw?) were an attempt to re-impose "strategy" in events, but it's more of a hit-or-miss; they could always add complexity to how staggers work, but that'll just piss people off.

Nothing in FFXI is going to be "challenging" as much as a zerg. Does no one remember SMN-burn, RNG-burn, BLM-burn CoP missions? Players will always take the path of least resistence, or the path of greatest gains-per-effort.
