Can we please get "Phoenix Down" added to the game. An item that would allow a player to raise someone else.
This is a classic item to the Final Fantasy franchise and I don't understand why it was never added.
Thank you

It would certainly make partying at the dunes easier, since you wouldn't have to wait for a WHM that can use Raise to come by. Maybe a Raise that only brings you back with 1HP could work or something, so the quality of Raise spells still stay higher. But yeah, I've also always wondered why an item used in almost every Final Fantasy wasn't implemented in this one.
Thought that's what Raise and Reraise was for?
2004-2011
Yep and that's what the 7 CP Reraise scrolls are for. And that's what the recent Event items are for. And that's what home points are for, and you can easily get back to the dunes with a teleport from Horst, and you have outposts for that, and you can set homepoints in the dunes if you have to, and you can have someone go run back to town and raise real easily, etcetera.
You shouldn't be dying that much in the dunes. If you are you have a much more important issue to deal with than just having raise issues. The exp gains have been increased substantially so you're in the dunes shorter, and if you're having that much of a problem kill easier targets for maybe half an hour longer at most and you'll be strong enough to take on what ever's killing you most likely. They dont' need more ways to ressurect you because your'e dying in the dunes, you just need to lead the party better and prevent people from dying or pay someone to PL if you're having that much difficulty. I actually don't party that much in the dunes unless it's a job that I'm not going to have an easy time soloing with around certain levels or unless I'm on DRG (dragoon is OP in dunes parties :P I was killing goblins solo in level sync before 5 other people killed lizards level sync'd)
I think you might want to check out the mini quest Mimeo Stone
Rewards:
Regain Feather (Grants you 100% HP, 100% MP and 300% TP)
Rebirth Feather (Reraise III)
Revive Feather (Reraise I)
Fire Feather (Enfire)
Blaze Feather (Blaze Spikes)
It's not easy and I used to do it years ago, but with people not exploring zones like they used to these quests get forgotten about.

None of those have the effect of a "Phoenix Down" from past FF games... you know... revive a fallen party member who is not yourself.
I would be happy to see this (stackable to 99) medicine item finally appear in FFXI, and not be a rarity. I can see them possibly wanting to keep the "raise other person" ability reserved for certain jobs to keep their utility, but that's why there are higher tiers of raise.
In addition, White Mage's "Raise" spells could be further enhanced or augmented by new job traits or gear that reduce death penalties and/or make the Raise spells more efficient in some way. (I have several ideas for this, but that's another topic)
I actually much approve of this. Would definitely be useful in some situations, and (almost?) every other FF game has had it, so why not.
I could agree with this as long as there was also a down side to it like: No XP regain upon raising and a status effect that stops you from being raised with another Phoenix Down for 6hours or something. Otherwise it seams like it would be too easy to exploit in endgame events or something.

I like this idea, and I, too agreed that this game should have had it in the beginning.
