    Summoner Merit II and Avatars

    Hello all.

    implementation of Merit II grants to Summoner the ability to have a good elemental dmg BP:rage from the avatars.
    due to the limitation of the number of the Tier II merit we are missing Light and Darkness 75BP, that means using less than always Diabolos and (ok) Carbuncle.
    considering we're moving to the introduction also of new avatars and the introduction of "Merit Point Group 2 adjustments"... i'm thinking if is possibile to consider to have also BP75 for these elements.
    considering the possibility to upgrade WS with merit, and considering that BP:Rage can be considered as "the real only WS" smn has (i'm not thinking about meleeing-smn) i think it should be logical to implement a wide number of BP75:rage (or at least Light and Darkness) to complete the whole scenario of elemental damage.

    those avatars were not omitted from it by mistake. These avatars also learn their own elemental damage ability past 75. Thus, this is not needed and would just make allocating points in that category harder than it already is.

    BLM, RDM and NIN all got 6 new spells corresponding to the 6 elements, None of them got a light or dark spell.

    i'm thinking about the usage. Night Terror should not be compared to the 75elmental BP because is different. Works in a different way and his usage is quite a lot different.
    following your second sentence

    this means that we do not need to have the 75bp but also do not have dark and light avatars to be equal...
    as we're speaking about adjustments in merit coming soon (we're in May now) and considering that quite a lot of jobs can have good performances with meritable WS, i'm just wondering how this could be implemented in SMN case.

    What you want to suggest is to make the lvl 75 BP skill chain -able like some of the earlier BP. They can be used for MB already, but would be nice to be able to skill chain with other WS or staff WS.

    That's because light and dark spells are genereallly different in nature. straight up light and dark damage is rare in this game, and it's going to stay that way. We're not going to get a mainstream light/dark nuke without some fancy additional effect or some weird mechanic attached to it.

    Merits are being adjusted in the update- but not new ones being added. Summoner's merits are equitable to the other listed jobs- and the 6 elemental avatars are meant to be the "main" ones, with the light and dark ones being more specialized- and this is pretty much the case.

    This is pretty low on the list of things that summoner needs. I'd rather just see them make what already exists better, especially considering we have a new avatar incoming which is already more than enough new stuff for SE to handle as it is.

    Magical BPs magic burst, physical BPs (other than the lv70 ones) skillchain. None do both, nor should they. How would the game know whether you intend to chain or burst? The only thing that really needs to happen here is making the lv70 physical pacts chainable. There's really no good reason for them not to be.

    Yes the level 75 BP should be able to skill chain with other weapon skill, and as well other lvl 75 blood pact. 2 summoners should be able to make a skill chain with one another, while a third can burst using the merited BP. Would be a nice to see Predator Claw + Rush = 4000k ish damage, skill chain bonus 1-2k, magic burst 2-3k :P with a total damage on 7-8k. Obviously all damage will be halved against notorious monsters lol.
