Have you checked my post? is it the crash when you click "play on test server"? if so feel free to bug them about it until they do something about it, it's not a real test invite if you can't even LOAD the game.

That proves nothing! And furthermore, you'd think I could remember a thing like that!
Plus, who are you anyway?
I am having the same problem, i followed the install instructions to a T and cannot get past the "play on test server" icon
i login and using the shortcut it made on my desktop it still does not work. It crashes saying "play online has stopped working"
Bump, because it's a current problem for me as well.
Hey Trisscar. I read an older post on how to fix this because I had this issue. No way to tell if you have the same issue but here's what my problem was:
In the installation ReadMe file it says this:
The key words here are "copy all of its CONTENTS". You need to place all of the files inside the "ffxi" folder into the folder "FINAL FANTASY XI Test Client". Not place the entire "ffxi" folder directly into the "FINAL FANTASY XI Test Client" folder.Extract "FFXITC.zip", "FFXITC2.zip", and ""FXITC3.zip" to a temporary folder.
*Extracting the image file will require 8GB of hard disk space on the drive containing the temporary folder.
Upon completion, access the newly-created "ffxi" folder. Copy all of its contents to the "FINAL FANTASY XI Test Client" installation folder from Step #1, overwriting files where necessary.
This is what I did wrong so maybe it will help you.
What I did wrong was accidentally copy the contents not into the test server folder, but the normal folder.
Feel so stupid now.
The zip files mentioned above come from where?? What read me? Has SE suddenly gone from forcing updates to allowing us to dl files that let us fix things? Something sounds off here..

The zip files in question are linked in the FINAL FANTASY XI Test Client Installation Guide thread.
