Gee if only there was some way we could level outside of abyssea and get away from these leaches. Maybe gather togather with 5 other people we're good friends with and go whack some pink birds. God I miss those times, if only abyssea leaches didn't stop us from doing so.

oh gee...and maybe while were at it...why not just level normally outside of abyssea. oh but wait...why do that when abyssea is "so much better!" ya..i know..instead of parting..lets go be lazy leaches in abyssea! ya..who cares if new players come and go from the game because we don't want to party in normal areas....i've got my level 90!

We are shutting FFXI's servers down as of <insert date here>. Our player base has dropped dramatically over the past years. We wish we could have stayed with you for a while longer but new players have lost interest in the game due to reasons beyond our understanding.

Honestly that isnt my point at all. Fact is I have pretty much soloed four of my level 90 jobs. I have to also admit that I am not nearly as good at them because I did. Sure I know how to play them but not in party dynamics.

Competent players will be competent players, regardless of the relative drudgery of getting to the top level.

You don't seem to understand that you represent the minority. We have given you options that keep everyone happy. You have given options that will inconvenience the majority in the name of some arbitrary concept of difficulty and what this game is about.

I lol'd. Typical female, too shortsighted to see the big picture and claims any viewpoint contrary to hers is inferior/wrong. Lazy people are always going to be lazy, regardless of Abyssea.

If people gear/play jobs effectively and learn job mechanics through other resources besides grinding 1-70, they shouldn't be subjected to leveling the 'proper' (read: retarded) way. Yes, gimp/lazy players are an unfortunate byproduct, but I'd argue that they've been around long before Abyssea/Levelsync.

I agree that new players would do well to grind the old way, but FFXI isn't exactly growing with new players. In the rare case of a new player, they are just as capable of being pointed to online FFXI resources to learn game mechanics just as easily as before. All it takes is one person to unveil the good FFXI community sites, and for the new player to be willing to accept ideas/playstyles based on trial and error from other's findings.

Many things can be accomplished with dedication. With your clarity of thought and insight, I'm sure it will just be a matter of time until you're a true professional. There's no time like the present! Might as well get started.
