    P.S.A: Voting and You

Hello Forum goers! I know I'm usually quite cynical about the whole "NA/EU Don't matter, JP ONRY" Forum mindset that goes on here. But its mostly a ruse i put on. I figured i'd drop some hard truths on you guys and let you know whats really going on!

Okay, So when they give us a chance to vote, Whats the key difference between NA/EU and the JP? "Likes". Check out any of the VOting threads, the NA likes will peak out around +10, Maybe, while the JP Will be well into +40~+50.

Theres a very high chance, Nay, 100%, That our "Votes" are tallied based both on Posts and LIkes. So we may have 20 POsts saying "This", but only +1-2 ON each, While the JP May have just one POst on "This", with +40 Likes, And they're winning the vote.

So truthfully, We have nothing to blame but our own petty crap and inability to like a post. So Now, and next time we're given the option to vote, don't hold a like as if its the last piece of food in a post apocalyptic world. Use the darn LIke Button and just maybe our voices will be heard.

    - But really, The proof is in the puddin'. Check out the thread in the JP Forum about the current Music VOte. Look how many likes each JP Post has compared to the NA/EU Posts, and that will tell you exactly why we generally don't see a lot of NA/EU ideas implened. We're all to busy giving each other sh*t instead of liking. I've seen post say to an OP "I agree with you" and his likes remain at 0.

THis like system wasn't introduced for sh*ts and giggles, Its likely the key factor behind determine whats a popular idea and whats not. This is the only explination as to why the JP Get so much more "attention". I'm saying this because i Know its fun to be cynical, But I'm betting theres a reason behind all of this outside of the "Racism" most posters would have you believe.

Even posts like "I'm indifferent to this" have about +20 Likes in a JP Forum. So, Don't have to buy what I'm sayin, Just letting you guys know the likely culprit behind lack of NA?EU Ideas being given attention is the strong lack of likes. I mean, If you look back to all the NA/EU Ideas/issues that even got some attention... the OP likely had/has 50+ Likes.

So yah, Wall of text completed. This has been a Public Service Announcement on Voting, ansd General Idea/ISsue addressing from SE> If you find a post you agree with, Or theres voting going on. LIKE THE POST YOU AGREE WITH. For all intents and purposes this is our voice, our opinion. Use the darn Like Button!

    Have a great day Forumers

People will create massive walls-of-text just to show their disapproval but rarely click the button to agree. I think it has something to do with members not wanting to be bashed for their ideas, because that's usually what happens (at least it appears that way to me). So they opt not to respond or make a suggestion.

...but that's just my two gil.

I see your point. Thats really an issue with us as a people then. IF we ever want our voices to be truly heard, We need to set aside our difference, and come together and Like the crap out of those things we really want to see.

So when you breeze by a thread and even kinda sorta think this could be implemented in a good way. Like the crap out of it. Like it, Unlike it, Then like it again.

If we start getting noticed because of this, It'll just make us all a little happier to know the company we shell our money out too aren't biased.

Well firstly i think many people aren't voting the jukebox legion thing because many view it as a cop out to making legion its own music (me included).

Secondly, http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/th...en+fajin+boots 150 likes. And instead of implementing an actual fix, they do a complete work around with this tag system that's we're still waiting months later for, that barely patches the problem. I wouldn't put the blame fully on the NA poster-base.

Still seems like they are implementing a fix, just not the one most people wanted. SE can't just give out gear for likes can they?

Just toward the thread you posted.

Its more of an evil genie thing. SE is addressing the issue, Just not in a way we specifically want. But they've acknowledged it. If you look around, Most hate threads about VW Drop rate have high votes... and whats a big issue they're working o nresolving? VW Drop rates. IN a way, It played right into my point.

They may not be taking the exact Idea, but they're acknowleding we hate it. Even if its small, Its acknowledgement, and it has tremendous + Votes, This falls in line with the OP.

What I think Karbuncle is saying is even if you like parts of a person's post hit the like button. If we don't the only one's we can blame is ourselves, because I don't think SE is gonna read through every intricate detail of every thread to see if anyone said they liked it instead of hitting the like button.

I say, if you agree with something, throw it a Like, and to those who bicker, quit tearing each other to pieces over some personal disagreement. Everyone plays their own way, uses their own gear/strategies, let's get over it already. Never hurts to be positive, and more civil - that'll get attention more likely than a virtual thread-brawl.

I'd really love to hear from one of the Community Bros about how the "Like" system works in relation to important-ish people looking a post over, since it's something they likely know about in-full. I share Krabnucle's strong suspicion that they affect which posts receive attention from on high.

Posts about rare Voidwatch drops being an analog to slowly pulling out your own teeth with your own broken fingers get a lot of "Like"s relative to most stuff on the English forums, and it seems like we've gotten a ton of information about the working being done on Voidwatch and are even asked for input occasionally.

Yeah, they miss the point and work on weird stuff and want input on the elements no one cares about and run around naked covered in tribal body paint made from office supplies, but that's how the Development Bros roll. Their roll is a crazy roll.

It's funny because in the JP forums, they complain that the dev team never listens to JP ideas.
