It still crosses that line between flavor and clutter. It's not exactly smart to design a job with a notable part of it's spellbook being pretty much useless between nerfs and the creators being too damn lazy to fix things.I don't really understand why some people care so much about the spirits. Nobody has the same level of caring for most of the other useless spells/abilities in the game. When was the last time you cast Goblin Gavotte? Flying Hip Press? Scop's Operetta?
But no one begs for these things to become useful.
* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line.
