It's happened to me before after they've gone in and done some tweaking with their networks...how I found the 124.xxx.xxx.xxx block of IP's a while back. It's actually a bigger block than listed above, think it was 150-154 in the second octave. I got stuck in a loop trying to log in to Port Windhurst, added the exception to my firewall and all was well again.
Note I edited the previous post a bit as you were posting to reference another issue that had come up regarding bitdefender on another site. Might want to add an exception to your software for the FFXI folder and it's executables if you haven't already.
