    Expansion code mistake!

    Help!

    I have had an account for 5 years, left for 2, and after returning to the game today I was confused with the whole SE Members switcharound.

    Long story short, I bought the Abyssea Edition of the game as a direct download, and I mistakenly used the registration code to register all the expansions by setting up a new POL ID instead of adding them to my existing account! (Hitting the button underneath the one I meant to!)

    Is there any way I can get in touch with SE on getting a new code? I have already cancelled this second account but I still cannot use the code to unlock the expansions and really don't want to have to fork out even MORE money to buy a SECOND set of codes! I feel like I have spent 17 pounds on all these expansions and can't use them, please help!

    would have to contact them directly, either by phone or through the online chat via the old support portal. This is an account issue that won't be touched on here. Did you just delete the toon, or the account? As I've come to understand it, once a code is used on an account, that's it--if it is a different account, it needs a different set of codes. Things are a bit more muddled with the new system, can imagine it's an easier mistake to make now.

    Thanks for the reply,

    I have an EU account, is there a phone number I can call? I tried searching and nothing! Not even a mail address!

    For a returning player not used to SE Members system it was VERY easy to slip up.

    On my original account, nothing is deleted, on the new account I made using the codes, I never even made a content ID or logged in, I cancelled the account straight away.

    guess you need to go through the motions like you are going to submit a ticked to customer service through the support portal by clicking the "Get Support" link under Customer Service on the Contact page (linked to the portal from the PlayOnline site):

    Thanks for replying again, I'm sure that portal used to exist, but not now. I remember using Live Chat too, again, it isn't there.

    ??? I just went there to provide you the link to it. Some contact methods may not show up based on the options you select for your problem (live chat only becomes available under certain circumstances) or perhaps during times when the department is closed or we are under maintenance--like right now they are processing billing in the old system, so there may be limited support at the moment.

    I also made this same mistake, namely due to excitement about getting my old character back up and there being zero warnings of what's about to happen!

    Support have basically told me I don't have a leg to stand on, which I quote:

    "Dear Chris,

    We appreciate your frustration in this matter but as mentioned before we are unable to transfer the registration code to your other PlayOnline account.

    If you want to escalate this further you can certainly do so by contacting our Head Office on email address sel-id@square-enix.com

    We apologize again for any inconvenience caused.

    Kind regards
    SQUARE ENIX Support Centre"

    I asked for a simple explanation as to why nobody is able to administer/alter game codes, to which I was not gifted with a response.

    To be fair, I hold my hands up I clicked the wrong button. The system should definitely not be so unforgiving though, imho.

    I've emailed head office to see if they actually care enough to keep me as a paying subscriber, as I want to do the additional levels and areas, etc.
