I have been mulling over this idea for a while, but had never posted it until now.
My main character is Fishing, but one of the other characters on my account is 100 Leathercraft. Occasionally, as I was skilling up on various leathers (I had this happen to me on a couple of occasions) I would get the HQ animation, but despite that, the result was always the same.
That made me wonder.....what if you could make H.Q. synthesis materials and use them to make new H.Q. weapons and armor? I'm not talking about +1 or +2 versions of the standard current armors. I'm talking about H.Q. armors. Vastly superior weapons and armor (superior to the NQ versions) with desirable stats that are the same level as their N.Q. counterparts.
An example to help people understand the concept of the idea.
Using Solea as the example. Lv. 8 armor, NQ has DEF: 2, and the +1 has DEF: 3. No other stats. The synthesis is Wind Crystal + 2 Sheep Leathers. A high level Leathercrafter uses the basic Sheepskin to Sheep Leather synthesis (Dark Crystal + Windy Tea Leaf, Sheepskin, Distilled Water) but gets HQ result, resulting in H.Q. Sheep Leather. The crafter then uses the basic Solea synthesis but replaces the 2 Sheep Leathers with 2 H.Q. Sheep Leathers. The result will be "H.Q. Solea"
The H.Q. Solea will have stats that are significantly better than the standard NQ and +1 version, and will also give stat bonuses. For example...
H.Q. Solea
[Feet] All Races
DEF: 6 HP +5, MP +5, STR +1, MND +2, INT +2
Lv. 8 MNK / WHM / BLM / RDM / PLD / BRD /
RNG / SMN / BLU / PUP / SCH
This is just one example. There are so many basic synthesis materials, weapons and armors in the game from various crafts that could use a boost from an idea such as this, that I feel this would completely revitalize the crafting market, especially those into Smithing, Goldsmithing, Clothcraft, Leathercraft, and Bonecraft, where the vast majority of weapons and armors are made.
I apologize in advance if some things in the initial post seems confusing. I'm not a very well-spoken individual. But I have been thinking of this idea for quite some time, but finally decided to post it. If anyone has any questions about the idea, or is confused about any aspect of it, I don't mind answering.
