Although it might be a low priority thing, it's something that's wanted by a lot of players - in addition to that, well I might not know anything about game coding and whatever it's called, but I cannot imagine that this is something that's difficult and requiring a lot of work to implement.

Not only that, but SE seems to have an ongoing problem with turnaround time. They'll announce that they're going to make a very simple change to something, but then they take nearly a year to act on it. It's not limited to just this issue, but can be seen across many different issues.

If the dev team has "other priorities" as wildsprite suggests, then their number one priority needs to be getting more people on board so they can offer the playerbase a more timely response to issues. Saying "we'll fix it", and then not having accomplished anything nearly a year later is not acceptable.

Isn't ps2's restrictions on viewing more than 160 items at a time? Just drop the storage numbers to 60, jump active inventory to 100, add a couple more storage areas to offset the loss.

I've played games with a LOT less storage than FFXI offers. Personally, I think it's rather generous...

The only real reason why FFXI suffers more from storage issues than these other games is its sheer scope. Being able to level up every job in the game will undoubtedly lead to huge issues with gear for all of them piling up. That they've added so many storable armour sets and items shows they're working hard to fix the majority of these issues for us.

Let's at least keep things a bit civil for now.

I can understand your point; however, please recognize that with literally every slot being merely a macro piece slot and needing several gear-sets on hand for each given job's activity it's very easy to run out of inventory space.

If, on the other hand, SE had designed FFXI with the intent of each job having static gear full timed 80 storage per slot would only then be generous.

As regard my civility regarding it, it's limited by PS2 incompatibilities, I'm sorry for any inconvenience. lol >.>

Yes, but in that announcement in August (which, by the way was NOT a year ago, but 8 months), they didn't give any real hint as to a time frame to expect any changes. This more recent update on the situation did: look for something to come in the Summer time frame.

THIS time were given a rough time frame for when to expect it. That time has not come yet.

It's kinda like the payment changes. Everyone raised h3ll for weeks when it screwed people out of their access until SE made an official announcement of when to expect the change. Things cooled off for a while--until they started missing the deadlines. Then the uproar started again--and it was justified because they gave us a specific window to expect the changes and they missed it by a mile. Until they fail to deliver as promised (ie, in the Summer)--all the clamouring for a change is kinda pointless....they've already promised a change will be coming, likely in the Summer

"Sometime after the upcoming version update" doesn't come across as "months and months after the upcoming version update and the next few updates after that too". I guess at the time Camate didn't have any idea of when it might be implemented, but it the way it's worded it really did sound like we wouldn't have to wait 10+ months. At least to me.

and how long have you been playing FFXI? not like ridiculous delays on changes is anything new for SE. Just look at how long it took them to undo their snafu on the payment changes, regardless of how much revenue was flying out the door because of it.

How long I've been playing has nothing to do with it, keep the snarky comments to yourself please?

It was badly worded by Camate, giving the impression it would be done fairly soon. I decided to bring the subject back up because personally I'm hurting bad for MH space, and having to go to home nation for anything I might need that's in MH storage is a royal pain in the backside when I'm in a rush.

"Undoing their snafu on the payment changes" can't really be compared to this, I dare say fixing that required a lot more work than giving players access to MH storage from anywhere will require.
