The description for the 'Palisade' (PLD) job ability reads:
Increases chance of blocking with shield, and eliminates enmity loss.
I realize the chance block increase is handy for Aegis PLD who want to hit higher block rates (I have an Ochain and haven't seen a benefit to Palisade for blocking reasons) but the enmity loss is useless: the "and eliminates enmity loss" text can just be removed from the job ability description. Any fast attacking melee [haste] with enough Double/Trip Atk will cap hate so fast that they have also essentially eliminated enmity loss, 100% of the time. The only way this would be useful is if it temporarily increased the enmity cap for PLD, while also applying the 'eliminates enmity loss' effect. I realize a hate cap increase has been suggested before and rejected, I just find it frustrating this is even listed on the ability.
It could also be argued that it's handy for back tanking (when not using a shield, you'd better see the benefits of enmity preservation), but I would say such a rare circumstance in current FFXI content doesn't warrant that slot been used up in the Paladin's job ability list.
