Alexandrite Prices

So was curious what prices are like on other servers, on sylph it's now reaching 15k per, meaning 450mil for a mythic, pretty much 3x the cost of 95 empy or a relic currently.

some one correct me if im wrong, but i thought the intent behind mythics was cheaper but harder to build (eg long and arduous quest line)

i had hoped that when they announced neo nyzul having alex drops it would bring at least a noticeable supply of alex...

Only thing neo nyzul brought was more ppl thinking they could make a mythic. Even more demand for the few alex that could be found in bazaars. It's gotten insane.. but I doubt the price will drop unless ppl take a bigger interest in NI 2.0 and salvage(2.0).

Currently halfway on the alex part. Hope changes happen soon... (Make linen pouches 100% drop please)

or lower the total required and offer a refund difference for any one who's finished a mythic, could be make it so that once introduced any mythic completed would make a different version of the mythic that way only people who completed a mythic before the change would be eligible for the refund, that and it would create a huge alex supply, probably better options for tackling the problem though.

Pretty much I've resigned myself to doing Salvage every night if possible and paying out the ass for alex. What more can you do? I really hope Salvage v2 comes soon and is great.

17-20k... They already lowered the Alex total once so that wont be changing. The only reason prices are so high cause the buyers are willing to pay it... None of it bothers me and my Mythic is coming along pretty smoothly. buying alex and working my ass off to make sure i complete my weapon. I like the fact this weapon isnt for everyone..

Last ones I saw in a bazaar a week ago were 15k, though I've seen a few 20-25k in bazaar as well. I agree SE will not lower the 30k amount. Just have to deal with that.

The two changes I'd love to see with Alexandrite are as follows:

1)Make Cotton (on NM) and Linen (on bosses) purses 100% drops in Salvage/Neo-Nyzul
2)Allow chance that Alexandrite can drop from regular mobs in Salvage/Nyzul/Neo-Nyzul.

Basically if you really want to work on these weapons efficiently and are truly serious about making a mythic, you're going to have to do a ton of Salvage like myself and a bunch of others are doing. As Neo-Nyzul is proving, don't expect the success of your completing the weapon to rely solely on the bazaar prices lowering. You'll never finish it that way. And the more that people continue to pay the price of 15k per Alex, the cost will never go down. If you aren't willing or prepared to have to possibly do Salvage for over a year to get the 30k, then might as well use the time to make the relics and empys because you'll probably have a couple of each in that same time. Not many of us like it (especially those who've been working at it for a long time already), but what can you do?

Of course, we don't know what Salvage v2 will bring, but again, don't rely on the hope that even that will fix the prices. Just need to go out and work it. Chip away.
