Lots of WHM is needed recently, and my WHM mentor told me "raise 3 is for decrease accidental double death When you wake up"
Not so different, but raise III gives you half HP (of weakness)the moment you wake up.

As a WHM,(not a main)Double death means double task for me,So I use raise III.
And The way to get magic spell didn't change since lvl cap was 60,now for who actually need it,it's hard to gather players with same purpose.
People changed but the way to get spell is not changed.
It takes away the motivation from newer player..

If many people needs it,Sell it cheap,at shop.
    Change the way along players.
(So sorry for my English skill, don't tease plz)

Your English is fine, and I agree with your post. If a spell, especially something that is not even used for the WHM's benefit, is needed by the majority of players, a shop needs to sell it for a fair amount. I've had Raise III since 2003-04, somewhere around then, however I can understand why some WHMs today are buying Reraise III and just buying Raise and Raise II for parties. Why should they buy a very over-priced spell that only affects other players?

Personally, I don't care if I get a Raise 1 at this point since EXP is so easy to come by, in fact I just request a Raise 1 when I die so I can get up faster since /whm, /rdm, and /sch all have access to it. I just payed 1.8m for :NI a couple weeks ago, and that's perfectly fine with me, because it directly benefits me, however Raise III is not that type of spell. It is a benefit to the person who died, RR III is what benefits me as a WHM, and that's not near as expensive.

I haven't made up my mind about Arise yet, but Raise III should definitely just be a vendored spell at this point. It's nothing but fluff to help those who want to sell it for outrageous prices. Not that I blame them, but something that doesn't even benefit the WHM has no business being that expensive, really.

    Agreed.
    Back in 2003,I was WHM40 or around,so I didn't have Raise III,and I guess I bought it cheapest time.
It means Raise III had less meaning back then,Same to nowadays.

So I have different view only this point, still I think Raise III's high price comes from
How WHM works recently.as many player thinks, Raise III is not for EXP.having Raise I,II,III and use them all,(in disaster)makes group's recovery faster no need to wait recast.
    "In charge without actual benefit"."Responsible".
(And also,as I said in former post, having half of (weakness's)HP makes WHM's work easier, but also this reason has its meaning only in group fight.)

comparing :NI and Raise III is nice way to explain(But what a price @_@)
Most of whm's spells are to cast other member.and "as responsible one(in own mind)"we buy them with less chance to earn gils as WHM.

We will do so,but a bit unfair.
(In static party I belong, there's 2 WHMs which are member's 2nd account.these situation came from mistreat.)

    Arise?I just have no idea,just because I don't know,but so curious.

Asking people to sell something rare and desirable for cheap is like asking the middle east to give up all its oil profits and return gas prices to 50 cents a gallon.

The only way to control the price of something is to make it readily available- like having the scroll on an NPC for a fixed price. but then it definitely wouldn't be super rare like the devs seem to want it to be (Not that I want it to be rare, but you know the devs do want it that way)
