    [Suggestion for Xbox 360] PlayOnline client downloadble via XBL Marketplace please!

    This message is for the...
    Square Enix Software Development/Management Team,

    As I am sure most of you are aware, Xbox 360 allows for most of there games to be played without a Game Disc in the tray. I think the time is long over due for Final Fantasy XI (PlayOnline) to be extended that same privilege.

    Since copies of Final Fantasy XI is no longer being generally made for Xbox 360. It would really be nice if at the very least the PlayOnline client in its entirety is downloadable via Xbox Live Marketplace.

    The reason why I am suggesting this, Disc become unusable over time over constant use and wear and tear. Fortunately when POL finally boots up FFXI, the disc is no longer being read sure enough. How about having a "POL client" installed on our 360's in the first place so the disc is not required. PC users enjoy that same privilege, can it please be extended to Xbox 360 players as well.

    Since you guys are not making any more Xbox 360 Discs to be sold. I really don't want to have to hunt down a 360 Disc online via Amazon or eBay and pay ridiculous bids just to get a replacement disc. At this point Our FFXI 360 Disc should only be used to install Final Fantasy XI and that is it. This way the 360 disc's shelf life is doubled if not tripled.

    I don't expect this suggestion to get much attention, but please Square Enix Team at least discuss if for 5 mins during one of you all's next big meeting that's all I ask. Maybe after consideration for a short while you all might see what I am seeing.

    In the end, Square Enix Team If We can't boot the game up due to the Xbox 360 Disc's inability to be read. It may be result to a loss of a portion of your Xbox 360 Customer Base. Us 360 players have being playing FFXI for years. The FFXI data is there and that's not the problem. We need a more effective means of booting it. We should not need the 360 Disc anymore to boot FFXI which is a subscription game anyway that require an Active Account. I am aware Xbox 360 generally prefers a disc to be booted for there games. But recent times have proven that to not always be the case.

    Once again, please consider this suggestion. I hope you all will make a client for Xbox 360 players to download, so we never again will have to use the 360 Disc. Thank you.

    Thank you for reading. Take Care.

    ===============================================================

    To my Fellow Final Fantasy XI Xbox 360 players,

    If you agree with all that I said above to the Square Enix Software Development/Management Team please reply back to my post and type "Signed" and/or if you wish add comments in addition to your signature that would be great.

    Thanks.

    This is a great idea, it is annoying to have to deal with putting the disc when its barely used. Also they should let people download the entire game via Xbox Live.

    Robmelee,

    While we can appreciate the difficulty one may have locating a copy of a game no longer actively stocked by most retailers, the Technical Support forum is not the correct avenue to try to bring about some kind of change. Any feedback related to FINAL FANTASY XI in any way, shape, or form should be submitted through the appropriate selection on the SQUARE ENIX Support Center, and not as a thread in the wrong forum. As such, we have gone ahead and locked this thread.

    Please feel free to submit your feedback through the SQUARE ENIX Support Center appropriate for your region. All feedback goes to the appropriate parties through there.
