    Free spirits are nice but...

    OK, now that Summoners are able to keep spirits out and recover MP with merits, there must be more done to improve their performance:

    1) Updated spell lists. Any BLM who gnashes his teeth over this needs to be ignored. Tier V spells, Comet, and the appropriate enfeebles (Addle, Break, etc.) need to be a part of the spirits' spellbooks.

    2) Avatar-quality MAB.

    3) Split casting times between enfeebles and elemental spells.

    I can't believe this is all they are doing... when they said they were adjusting spirits i thought they meant they were giving them a complete AI overhaul or something.... all we are getting is tier V spells and reduced perp? this is crap, not only are spirits still useless but now we can't even use them to proc abyssea weaknesses... here i was hoping we'd be getting a decent adjustment to spirits like pup got so the spirits would cast more than one spell per 20 seconds and maybe something other than their highest tier spell, at least a removal of the stupid pointless timer reset on using assault! unless there is more to come this is a real let down....

    As I understand it, elementals start with little to no mp. They get a refresh value based on the perp cost, which is why they don't immediately start casting. Unfortunately, as elementals are currently, avatars are always a better choice.

    They do start with MP. I have had my spirit aspired soon after it was summoned for over 300mp. I.E.: Their AI sucks

    Also, if this was the case, then they would not have mp to Elemental Siphon from.

    They actually had above 1000 MP at level 75.

    But I'm really wondering what they are thinking. They ignore spirits 2 years, then say "Look, we give you what you SHOULD have already gotten, and call it an update". I'm sorry, all you listed were bug fixes that were 2 years late.

    And it looks like they intend on implementing a new merited bug called "reduce summoning time" that will be completely useless.

    5 mp perp and 25% something cast, siphon pays for that. Now, if something cast is really player fast cast, it is amazing. /rdm will be a kiting god. If it is our spirit timer, well, I guess that means we can summon nekked.

    It is kind of interesting since they said they "Wanted to do something different with spirits", and so far all they've done is catch up on what they skipped doing the last year because they forgot to add the spells and re-adjust spirit perpetuation for 75+.

    I hope Camate wasn't wrong when he said they were looking at something different, because just going the same path we had 1-75 for spirits 76-99, will do nothing.
