    New elemental spirits Plz, & Phys BPs

    Kinda tired of seeing the same old elemental spirit scrolls in the AH.

    How about those new elementals in Abyssea? (Baelfyr, Gefyrst, Byrgen, & Ungeweder) Would be nice if they had like a 1% chance to drop a scroll to summon them.
    Or maybe even a job ability that let's you form a temporary pact with elementals wandering Vana'Diel and Abyssea, until it dies. (sort of like beastmaster's charm ability, but for SMN and only works on elementals)

    Also it would be nice if in the next uncap, smn could see a couple AOE damage blood pact Rage abilities, and new PHYSICAL Blood Pact: Rage attacks! I spent all my merits into physical str and acc for avatars, and none of the new attacks are physical. -_-

    As long as "Devivication" doesn't play a role, I can see summoning the abyssea elementals a possibility. And I think a temporary pact with elementals strays off the background of the job as well as how it is built.

    I have often thought SMN should be able to 'charm' elementals in some way how exactly it would work I don't know though maybe they could have a lower perpetuation cost during their associated weather or they could have a 0 MP cost but disappear if you loose the weather effect, that'd be fun half way through fighting a NM your pet goes POOF! lol.

    The elementals in abyssia are just normal elementals with 2 elements -and a different model obviously- I'd prefer to stick with our current 1 element spirits so I can more easily target an enemies weakness & just buff their stats & increase their casting frequency & AI so they're actually useful because even though I did actively try to make use of them I quickly relented to the fact that they're only uses are for siphoning MP & distracting something that agros you while you run for the trees!

    I think SE did this intentionally to get SMN away from just using physical BPs & make the job a little more varied.

    being able to cast the melded elemental spirits would be a nice pace change for SMN i vote for this also

    Yeah some people will like the standard elementals over the newer ones, but it's not like they'd replace the single-element ones. ;-)
    I have a humongous list of spells for rdm/whm/blm and then let's see... like sixteen summon spells altogether right?

    How about non-battle summons too?
    Ex: Summon mystic cool-looking chocobo to ride on, with a 60 min recast timer. (works in Abyssea too)
    And in case not everyone knows, Chocobos have been summon monsters before, so not completely out of nowhere. :P

    Ex2: Cait Sith or Atomos, could be used to retrace-ga to your past home nation's nearest maw, instead of trying to figure out a battle setup for them. 30 min recast.


    I need some FF time so I can stop thinking. :-)

    Once upon a time I suggested that to make Summoner more party friendly, we should be able to summon party members to our location. I feel like this idea kind of trickled away into the coat SE released later with a much longer recast and job independent. Would have been nice to have though, so you could more easily invite new party members.

    I don't believe in those hybrid spirits though. Remember that you'd most likely have a worse ratio of debuffs vs nukes on them, making you debuff more often than nuke compared to old spirits, and old spirits SPAM debuffs.

    rotfl! Me to I've had a headache all week! =P

    I like the idea of non-battle summons just for a bit of fun though I doubt it'll happen. People have been hounding SE for summonable mounts like in other games for ages, they responded with the Chocobo whistle & I think that's as good as we're going to get. Off topic but I'd like to see them extend the zones the whistle can be used in.
