AF3 +2 5/5 set

@taint I only use full af3+2 when i have the Catastrophe aftermath up(because it's 10% GEAR haste) which means the haste you're getting from your legs and feet are useless, and i only use cata to heal myself if i need it, otherwise I do use a full haste set. i don't see how you think this is bad, just do normal WSs(entropy/guillotine) until you need to heal yourself and the WHms aren't focusing on you(which for me is a llot, and I also like to not be a burden on them) so that extra 10% haste that I'm getting I don't want to go to waste. So just for extra damage I have an aftermath set.

I hope people actually think these things through lol... I shouldn't have to explain these concepts. I didn't say Always and Forever fulltime af3+2 set, but seeing as i said Apoc you probably sometimes use Catastrophe, which means youre getting free 10% haste at least some of the time, and you really should take advantage of that.

Come on man that is terrible advice. AF3+2 5/5 is never worth it, esp not with an Apoc. I feel like I'm always responding to your post in a negative manner, but you continue to post information that is not even close to the truth and might steer people with serious questions in the wrong direction.


5/5 is an 8-9% loss in DPS compared to all the other options and that includes the set bonus. If ACC comes into play like in VW its a 13%+ drop in DPS.

Don't use 5/5 ever, unless you want a pretty SS.

w/e, people obviously don't like experimenting. On-paper and in-application rarely coincide because there are many factors that you can't actually keep track of in an accurate manner. I'll keep schooling ukko wars and masa/shoha sams and you all can keep doing what you're doing.

The problem is it was "experimented" back when AF3+2 was new and was proven to be not a good setup. If you are "schooling" Ukko WARs and SAMs then they are as off base as you are when it comes to gearing.

5/5 DRK is not good, not in practice or on paper, please stop acting like it is. Esp an Apoc user should know better, stuff like this is why DRKs get a bad rep.

I was one of the first people on all servers to have Apoc, do you really think I don't understand what an AM set is?

well it seems to be working for me seeing as i do between 30~40%(30 being when something goes really bad or when i have to be more reserved or not getting enough chained staggers) of any VWNMs HP on parses, so i must be doing something right.

Also, the wars/sams are actually very well-geared and know how to do their job very effectively.

If you're doing 40% of the damage on your own on any T3-T6 I can tell you right now there's a host of people in your pt not doinitright.

Just saying this is off topic since it's not the af3+2 5/5 thats making you do 40% (tho if ya do that much somthing is MAJORLY worng with your other DDs)

either way ignore acc and tp builds for sec (we are talking in VW and /w relic (+35 acc))

ANY gear that has 1% Double attack or more will trump the Af 5/5 effect

Quick examples
Jingang Greaves 2% Double attack
Calmecac Trousers 2% double 2% triple attack
Avant Gauntlets +1 2% double attack (prolly would still use bale hands here)
Avant Mail +1 3% double attack.

As for on paper bs it's more common sense...

If you can't see how 1% chance to deal double damage and give double tp(double attack) is better than 1% chance to give double dmg(af3 set) then you lack common sense.

Taint, thank you for posting your 5 hit builds. For those of us new to Apoc and dont have Hauberk, can you help us out by sharing what is the second best body piece. Gonna work on gettin Hauberk but need a suitable replacement for the time being.
