Free Month Suggestion Due to Earthquake

    Dear Square/Playonline,

I realize the month of April will be free for all subscribers because of the tragic event that has happened in Japan. I would like to suggest that instead of giving a free month, perhaps giving the option for people across the world to help support Japan in their time of need. I suggest that April's subscription costs could go towards a support effort for Japan.

I would gladly give $15 to help Japan in any way that I can. I am sure that a lot of FFXI's Loyal subscribers would do the same.

Its an idea, perhaps if this post gets a lot of replies it can be thought of further.

    Thank you

I don't think SE needs to give an incentive to donate to the recovery. Them being in a disaster is incentive enough for my donation. The option to donate is always there without a reason to do it.

Why don't you post in one of the other multiple threads on this exact topic?

Oops I deleted both of my posts... The first post was just basically saying that I thought this was a great idea. Also suggested that to get those not so willing to donate outta the goodness of their hearts maybe create an in game item similar to the tidal talisman with proceeds going to the red cross or something else. I personally donate directly to the red cross and through my school organizations, but I would donate again if something like this (donating the subscription fee for april or anything else) was given as an option.

You know the in game item isn't a bad idea. 1: to get people to jump on board. 2: Something to remind me of a time when our entire community all got together to help out those less fortunate than ourselves
    .

It doesn't even have to do anything. Just a "Token of Remembrance."

Even easier why not just an anniversary ring?

If America can remember the tragedy of 9/11 in reverence, and so many put themselves in the way of harm to solve what had happened, why not do the same for Japan?

Remember the tsunami! Remember what it's cost even us in America!

I agree with that. With asking people to donate the monthly subscription cost to aid those in need over there in Japan.

Absolutely would I donate this way. I'd rather donate than have a free month. They should make like a necklace or ring in the game to wear that is called like "Relief Fund Bracelet" or necklace with some roundabout stats (grants ability to raise somebody else without a mage job?).
