    Staring fresh in Bismarck

I started my FFXI career way back in 2005 and played off an on since then. I used to be on Valefor, but ever since they linked POL ID's to SE accounts, trying to get my old account linked has been kind of crazy.

So now I am in Bismarck putting along with FoV working up to GoV. But one thing I know about MMO's, particulary this one. It's the people that you stay for. I don't want to be one of those nubs that quit after a month, haha.

Anyways, just hoping to meet some nice people from Bismarck. I've never been here, but it's nice!

It encourages you to explore the whole breadth of content rather than asking you to bumrush and bypass all the old content just so you can grind the newer content. This is a model used by other MMOs such as WoW, and while I don't have anything against people that enjoy this model, if I wanted to play an MMO with that model there are many, many games vast superior to XI in terms of mechanics and especially customer service that offer such a model.

Awesome! I greatly appreciate it! I will definitely keep an eye out for you!

On a side note, I did have my first gusgen party yesterday. I'm kind of excited how the leveling has changed. There's not as much structure as there used to be. I can see how new players can somewhat miss out of what they're supposed to do in most party situations, but I prefer it to standing around fighting one thing at a time for 5 hours... not to mention waiting for hours on end. It's a double-edged sword, but I find it refreshing that I don't have to spend half a year getting back to where I was.

People still have mixed feelings about EXP Parties. I don't particularly care and will do either myself. (:

I'm on Bismarck as well and if you ever need questions or help feel free to ask. I tend to stay busy but will always do my best, I have a friend who just came back from the 2004~06 era and I'm helping him build his character back up.

    Thanks, Komori!

I will definitely keep an eye out for you! And I definitely appreciate the offer!

To other new Bismarck players, if you're finding it a struggle to get a long and finding it hard to meet people. Feel free to shoot me a /tell in-game. My taru's name is Glaxen, and I would definitely not object to starting a new Linkshell with some cool new people. It'll be nice to generate a group of people that can rely on each other when help is needed.
