I like playing dnc. But, as galka, they should have natural earth damage to most dnc abilities.

Someone from SE will look at it, but I doubt it'll get past the first screening.

It's simply not that good from the start. Scholar covers most of it, with PUP, BLU, COR, SMN, RDM etc taking other aspects. Weather is fickle is most zones, and any effects are expected to be ineffective against any targets native to zones with (consistent) weather.

Simply put, your idea would work even less then Necromancer, and that job idea was useless/less effective only from dawn to dusk.. Geomancer would be useless 99% of the time. There are ways to fix it, but it requires drastic changes such as Necromancer > Puppetmaster and Geomancer > Scholar.

Actually you're right. I was going to put terrain specific abilities in there as well, but it is true. Weather-specific abilities won't do anything because against monsters in that terrain, they are usually resistent to the weather that shows up. Best case scenario is the added elemental status effects. So, best bet is to switch the abilities to where you can choose the element, and it's enhanced by the current weather.

But then you're trouncing on RDM's ground. They already do that with enspell IIs. Not so much status effects, but elemental resistance down, which in turn can be used to increase landing rate of status effects. And if SE would add something like "Augments Elemental Magic" to RDM, it could add Paralyze to Blizzard I-IV...

Why not go ahead and ask them to rename the game to Final Fantasy Tactics 2

Okay, next will be the Mimic job: 2hour ability- Copy Cat.

How about it SE? It's like a Blu but it learns from his/her party members while leveling! ^o^

In theory, I'm all for adding new Job. However, given the state of MANY of the existing jobs (i.e. RDM, SMN, BST, BLU, etc) and the mess that is in many events. Do you seriously want SE to divert MORE attention to something else so they won't have to focus on the other issues at hand? [This is a real question btw to the general playerbase]

Personally, I want a new expansion, if part of the expansion comes with a set of new job(s). I guess I can accept and would support that. But if SE is just going to keep tossing minor fixes (or worst, more nerfs), I would much rather they stop those activities and fixes the other issues or better yet, find real solutions for those problems.

On the new years announcement, they mentioned redoing the hardware of FFXI to support more content. I really hope they start opening up the world of Vana d'Iel, because at the moment there's only about 40% of the world available to be travelled. Heck, when they opened up the East, they only opened up half of it (Treasures of Aht Urhgan). Then, instead of introducing new areas, they just redid old ones for a different time period (Wings of the Goddess), then the SAME areas AGAIN (Abyssea). It's time they start applying a design team to making new areas, storylines, and such, so we can start seeing new expansions.

However, I have a really good feeling no new jobs will be seen. Though there's styles SE hasn't explored with FFXI, but introducing them is just bringing out more jobs that can do new combinations of the same things. If anyone can make a truly unique new job, I think Geomancer is the route, as the job isn't really a mage or a melee, but they use abilities that are terrain/weather dependent that have a unique combination of effects. Would be like the DD version of DNC, where instead of a list of support abilities, would be a list of damaging abilities.

I'm all for the old school master class system instead of new jobs. Do a 99 limit break specific to your job, ala a mega-Maat fight thing, which releases the true potential of the job. For example: Breaking the limit as a 99BLM would then transform you into a 01WZD (Wizard), which carries over all caps and BLM abilities, but unleashes more potentcy, suvivability and new ancient magics and traits. Just an idea. If anything, it would give people something to do >.>

I do not apologize for my sarcasm, I just ask that you have a damn sense of humor. I'm the comic relief, dammit!
