Problem with Radeon 5450HD?

Dear Developers,
i found the solution of the problem and i think you need to speak with Steam about it.
the POL that steam install with his procedure is NOT a working one for WIN7 64bit.
as now a lot of new pc (the 100% of windows ones?) came out with win7... is not possibile that the POL coming with Steam Abyssea Package is not working.
i had do download from playonline site the new pol (working on win7).
then change the folder name of the old playonline (steam one)
install the new pol in the directory before used by wrong playonline
let start the game from steam that use the new pol as the old one.
and now the resolution is ok and the game is working with right resolution.
please consider that i need to download twice the whole package (8.5gb + 21k files of update each)... could you please check this and let steam have the 100% working version of pol to avoid same problems to other players?

well well well...
other problems... maybe bigger than before.
i fixed my screen resolution now and yesterday try playing with a smooth 1600*900 and background 1024*1024
start gaming but...
logging in and i see that my Destrier Beret is no more on my head.
checking in the inventory and... i can't see it. there is only a "black box" for the item showing no info (i will post pictures later).
so i try to contact a GM to understand what happens and... GM wrote me but i cannot see any word!
i can see only

and nothing more. so i cannot see what GM wrote to me.
then.
i decide to recall GM and during the wait i decide to kill a stupid rabbit. /attack... and on the first swing... ffxii crashes. every time i try to attack it crashes.
then i decide to go to the moghouse and see if i can store my hat and re-take and see if something changes.
and there we are the ugliest thing.
entering in mog house and ... there is no mog house!
i popped in an open space without end (sort of a "white space" in matrix) with a floor made by grey and blue tiles... a moogle with "???" over his head... and a "?" that says "Door:return to the city"
every time i click the "door" sistem crashes again.
and if i contact GM i cannot read what they say so i am not able to understand what happens. i'm stuck there paying my new month.
i tried changing drivers (from catalyst 10.11 to catalist 11.11 to catalyst 12.10) and nothing happes.
changing my resolution down and i am still stucked.
making a file check from my POL but evrything is fine.
what should i do? i return back to game after 4 years (i was on Fairy server) but... seems with a new machine FFXI is not working.. and this is insane!
i was playing this game with a pentium4 2.8ghz, 1g ram and 128mb video card on win XP. now i cannot play with a i5 with 4gb ram and a 512mb video card?
why the FFXI bechmark3 scored 7000+ (impossibile to gauge!) if i cannot play?
as soon as i can upload the pics on internet i will add the screens i made yesterday to explain better my problem.
i would like to receive some replies also because my account is on going, my free month is moving and... i'm still stuck in my "mog house"
i will write this post also on steam forum.
