Content ID problem. Free 30 Days not free?

    Greeting Forum,

I bought the Ultimate Collection - Abyssea Edition yesterday for me and the bf.
I was playing trial account up until yesterday, I couldn't upgrade my account so I ended up making a new Playonline account with the registration key.

In any case, the game has been added as a Playonline service (all games and expansions show in the service list) my problem now, is that when I try log on the game using my new playonline details, it tells me that there is no content ID.

How can I use my 30 free days to play Final Fantasy XI?

The only answers I have seen elsewhere are always along the lines of:
"You have to buy game time to get a content ID"

(How do I use my free 30 days then?)

    Thanks in advance.

    And welcome to Vana'diel!

Firstly, this is not a Technical Support issue, and as such, can not be assisted by the staff here.
They can only re-direct you to the SQUARE ENIX Support Centre/Center, where all Account/Billing issues are be handled.

I, however, as a normal user can give advice and directions as good as I can.

Converting a Trial-account into a Full-account should be possible via the SQUARE ENIX Account Management System, though, I'm unsure if it is indeed available for the US-customers, as their knowledge base does not have the info on this that which the EU-site does, here:
In any case, I would imagine it is...
If the game is bought via steam, then the only difference to other available sources is that the Trial-version should be first un-installed, before installing the full-version.

Upon completing the installation, simply log in to your SQUARE ENIX Account, select “Select service” and then choose FINAL FANTASY® XI. Under “Active service accounts”, click on “Transfer to regular service” and enter the registration code provided with your purchase.

You have to add a Content ID to be able to play.
At the SQUARE ENIX Account Management System, navigate to:
    • Services and Options - Select Service
    • PlayOnline / FINAL FANTASY XI
    • Active Service Accounts - PlayOnline / FINAL FANTASY XI 1 : [yourID] - Options List
    • To obtain a new character, click "Add new options."
Now, I haven't had a fresh copy with the 30 days free added with this new system, but I would imagine the system does 'see' this, and in a way or another, grant you the 30 days subscription. One might guess it will grant you Crysta-nonsense in the amount of the 30-days payment.

That said, there is a bit of assuming and guessing going on, so I can't claim this to be 100% accurate, but I hope it is of at least some help and/or might point you to the right direction. I can't test this out myself for the time being and the documentation is not the greatest/most easy to find when it comes to things like this.

Best of luck, and lots of joy on your future adventures!
    Have fun ! !! !
