PS2 Freezes when attempting to talk to an NPC

Experiencing the exact same problem.

The white gate warp guy in south sandy like 75% of the time when I trade him 300gil. The times I do get ported without freezing I feel like I won a prize. Used to have the same issue with the outpost npc in north sandy. Then they moved the npc, and it never happened again. Please move the guy in S. Sandy!!

Hundreds, if not thousands, of similar posts thru-out this forum on this issue. Like beating a dead horse, nothing is gonna happen.
